MOUNTING SYSTEM WITH FORCE INDICATOR
A mounting system using a force indicator is disclosed. A screw is used to mount a bracket to a structure. While the screw is being threaded into the structure, the force indicator deforms to provides a visual indication when the screw is tight enough to secure the bracket to the structure without damaging the structure or mounting components. Additionally, a washer may be used with the mounting system. The force indicator can be cylinder shaped with a hole for the screw to pass through. The force indicator can extrude radially as it deforms in order to provide the visual indication.
Deformable insertion fastening arrangement for fastening onto a metal sheet/plastic composite ply structure
A deformable insertion fastening arrangement for insertion into a planar ply structure and for retention thereon by subsequent deformation, including a retention component having a passthrough opening passing through it along a passthrough axis and having a fastening configuration for fastening a further component thereonto; the retention component having at least two portions that are radially displaceable relative to the notional passthrough axis that passes centrally through the passthrough opening, the retention component, when considered in its undeformed initial state, is embodied segmentedly in a circumferential direction around the passthrough axis; at least two segments, constituting the radially displaceable portions, being connected to one another by at least one connecting configuration deformable in a circumferential direction; at least one segment being displaceable in a radial direction away from the passthrough axis against a shape inertia force of the at least one connecting configuration, accompanied by enlargement of the passthrough opening.
FASTENING DEVICE AND METHODS INCORPORATING THE SAME
A fastening device including a rod threaded on both ends is provided. The rod is crimped at a predefined distance from a first end, with the crimp width being limited to the diameter of the hole(s) the rod will be passed through. The first end may (or may not) be covered with thread locking material. A nut with is installable on the second end, and the second end can be crimped to a predefined distance. In use, the first end is passed through different elements to be joined and threaded into a female thread in the last element of a joint. A driving tool may be used to tighten the rod into the threaded element. The crimp on the first end can prevent the rod from spinning past the crimped portion.

Torque Limiting Screw
A compound screw is a two-piece assembly where the head of the screw can rotate in the tightening direction to a designed tightening torque to drive the screw while being able to positively counter-rotate in the loosening direction. The screw assembly comprises a screw and a cap surrounding the head of the screw. The screw has a head at the top and a threaded shank downwardly extending from a base of the screw head. The screw is turned by turning the cap about a central axis of the screw. The cap is rotatably affixed to the screw head by a loose riveting of the cap to the top most end of the screw head by flaring a thin-walled upwardly extending portion thereof. The cap includes a plurality of axially extending peripheral resilient arms which engage peripheral cam surfaces around the outside of the screw head.
