Fall arrest connector

A fall arrest connector is used to connect at least a safety belt with a snap hook and a wearable harness for a user to wear. The fall arrest connector includes a retaining ring, a buckle ring, and a breakable connection. The retaining ring, including the first connecting portion, is connected to the wearable harness. The buckle ring, including the second connecting portion, is hooked by the snap hook. The breakable connection connects the second connecting portion and the first connecting portion. When the retaining ring or the buckle ring is pulled by a predetermined external force, the breakable connection is broken to separate the first and the second connecting portion. The retaining ring and the buckle ring could respectively be connected to the substitute protection device, which could provide the user an instant protection when the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion are separated.

Separation device for spacecraft and a method for separation

The invention relates to a separation device for a spacecraft or launcher. The separation device includes an inner housing divided into at least two portions locked to each other by a locking device in a locking position. The locking device is arranged to move between a locking position and a releasing position. The separation device includes an initiator including means for providing high pressure fluid to an expansion chamber when the separation device is switched from a locked state to a released state. The high pressure fluid in an expansion chamber moves the locking device from the locking position to the releasing position when the separation device is switched from the locked state to the released state. The separation device includes a dampening arrangement arranged to attenuate a peak load when the separation device is switched from the locked state to the released state.

Fastener assembly

Disclosed is a fastener assembly comprising at least one of a bolt member and a nut member; and a drive element adapted for engagement by an installation/driving tool, said drive element comprising a body. The body of the drive element is joined either to the bolt member or to the nut member by means of an interposed interlayer structure, the interlayer structure being adapted to fracture in torsional shear and/or tensile stress in response to a relative rotational and/or tensile force applied to the drive element with the installation/driving tool.

A shear pin connection for use in a difficult to access location has a bolt head to be positioned at an inner end of a bearing. A bushing is received between the bolt and an inner periphery of the bearing. A lock member is positioned between an inner end of the bushing and the bolt head. The lock member is radially expandable, and has a free radially outer dimension that is smaller than an inner dimension of the inner bore. The lock member is expandable to have an expanded radially outer dimension that is greater than the inner dimension of the inner bore. A nut is tightened on the outer end of the bolt. The nut causes the bushing to move relative to the bolt, and causes the lock member to expand radially. A shackle connection for a gas turbine engine and an aircraft are also disclosed.
