Low energy screws for wood and similar materials
A low energy wood screw that may be inserted quickly and using less energy than conventional screws. In various embodiments, the screw may include a countersunk head having a recess for accommodating a driving tool, a tapered neck, a plurality of crown ribs extending over the head and neck, a lubricating coating, main threads with a large thread lead, and lower threads having an asymmetrical profile and extending onto a gimlet point.
Wheel nut assembly
A wheel nut assembly for fixing a wheel to a vehicle hub which includes a wheel nut with an internal thread and an axial body extension on said nut including a first section with an internal set of axial grooves or ribs and a second section containing a second internal screw thread. There is also a wheel stud having an external thread to co-operate with the internal thread of said wheel nut and having an end portion adapted to project beyond the wheel nut which end portion includes axial grooves or ribs on its external surface. An axial retaining cap consists of an upper externally screw threaded first portion which is adapted to engage the second internal screw thread of said body extension of said nut and attached to said first portion a second cap portion having internal grooves or ribs complementary to the external ribs or grooves on said wheel stud adapted to fit over said wheel stud and having external ribs or grooves adapted to engage the internal set of axial grooves or ribs on the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut. The first portion of said retaining cap is able to be rotated so that it moves axially down the internal screw thread of the second section of said body extension of said wheel nut so that the second portion of said cap is pushed down the end of said wheel stud and is held between the external ribs and grooves of the end of said wheel stud and the internal ribs and grooves of the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut.
Deformable washer with additive dispenser and method of manufacture
A washer with integrated fluid distribution which includes a body with an outer ring having an aperture located centrally within said ring, a channel enclosed within said outer ring and a release channel in fluid communication with said aperture and an interior surface of said channel and wherein said channel is filled with a dispensing fluid and said release channel is reversibly closed.
WHEEL RETENTION SYSTEM
A wheel retention system is provided for retaining a wheel on a vehicle. The system includes a plurality of connector receiving openings in a wheel hub flange, with each wheel hub flange including a raised bolt stop at each bolt receiving opening. A plurality of threaded connectors or bolts is provided, with each bolt received in one of the bolt receiving openings. Each bolt has a head with a flattened or clipped surface that meshes with the raised bolt stop in each bolt receiving opening on the wheel hub flange. These raised bolt stops positively prevent the bolts from rotating in the openings.
Captive fastener with engaging and locking mechanism
A fastener comprising a body having a first portion and a second portion is provided. The first and second body portions are adjustably connected such that the distance between the first body portion and the second body portion is adjustable along a longitudinal axis of the body. A first flange is arranged on the first body portion and a second flange is arranged on the second body portion. A locking mechanism is provided for securing the first and second body portions together while permitting adjustment of the distance between the first and second body portions in the direction of the longitudinal axis.

Anti-Disassembly Connector
An anti-disassembly connector, including: a connecting portion; and at least two bosses, where the bosses protrude from an end or a peripheral wall of the connecting portion, the bosses extend along a circumferential edge of the connecting portion, each of the bosses has a force-bearing surface and a force-releasing surface that are disposed opposite to each other, and two bosses are disposed at intervals along the circumferential edge of the connecting portion or the peripheral wall of the connecting portion; and a force-bearing sideline is formed on a side of the force-bearing surface away from the connecting portion, a distance between force-bearing sidelines of the two bosses is clamping distance L, an outer diameter of each of the at least two bosses has D, and L<D.
Spring nut
A spring nut for attaching a threaded object to a structure with reentrant lips. The spring nut can include a base, a first arm and a second arm extending from the base in a first direction, and legs extending laterally from the base. The arms can include a support portion, a structure-engagement portion, and a thread-engagement portion that can be configured to secure the threaded object against axial loading in a second direction opposite the first direction. Crumple zones in the support portions can deform upon loading of the threaded object in the second direction to cause the structure-engagement portion to be urged into the reentrant lips. Each of the legs can extend at a first angle from the base, toward the structure-engagement portions, to be disposed to contact an exterior surface of the reentrant lips of the structure when the first and second arms are received in the channel.
Assembly unit having an assembly part and a sleeve fixed therein
An assembly unit includes an assembly part penetrated by a through opening and a cylindrical sleeve which is captively fixed in the through opening. The sleeve has at least one spring element which protrudes from an external face of the sleeve by an excess length in a non-assembled state. The excess length is dimensioned such that the spring element is elastically moved radially inward by contact with the wall of the through opening when the sleeve is introduced into the through opening, so that the spring element presses against the wall 4 of the through opening as a result of elastic restoring forces.
