A method for manufacturing washer includes steps of providing a wire material, deforming part of the wire material to be a ring shape, cutting off the part in the ring shape to obtain a ring-shaped wire material, and forging the ring-shaped wire material into a washer having a split defined by end surfaces at two opposite ends of the ring-shaped wire material.

FLUID END ASSEMBLY

A fluid end having its fluid flow bores sealed without threading a retaining nut into the walls of each bore. The fluid ends may be assembled using a plurality of different kits, each kit comprising a fluid end body, a component, a retainer element, and a fastening system. The retainer element holds the component within each of the bores formed in the fluid end body and the fastening system secures the retainer element to the body. The fastening system comprises a plurality of externally threaded studs, washers and nuts in some embodiments. In other embodiments, the fastening system comprises a plurality of screws.

A mechanical seal includes rotating seal ring which rotate with a rotary shaft, stationary seal rings, and an adaptor which holds the stationary seal rings, the adaptor being fixed to a seal cover by bolts. The mechanical seal further includes a plurality of holders brought into contact with the adapter and provided with through holes. A body part of each of the bolts passes through each of the through holes and is screwed into each of threaded holes formed in the seal cover. The plurality of holders being arranged so as to surround the rotary shaft.
