ROLLER SEATING DEVICE FOR TAPERED ROLLER BEARINGS
An assembly tool (104) for positioning the rolling elements (150, 155) of a bearing assembly (100) during a preloading operation includes a roller seating actuator (400) configured to be removably coupled to a portion of the bearing assembly during the preloading operation, and a roller seating ring (420) movably coupled to the roller seating actuator. The roller seating ring includes a distal end (440) configured to engage an end of a rolling element of the bearing assembly. A biasing member (460) is positioned between the roller seating actuator and the roller seating ring and biases the roller seating ring away from roller seating actuator such that the distal end of the roller seating ring engages and presses the rolling element axially into engagement with a rib (145) of a race of the bearing assembly.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft which includes an attaching member releasably connectable to a shaft and a press mechanism coupled to the attaching member. The press mechanism is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The press mechanism includes a wrench engageable with the lock nut on the shaft and the wrench is configured to engage and rotate the nut when the attaching member connects to the shaft. The wrench is moveable axially relative to an axial dimension of the press mechanism between a proximal non-engaged position and a distal engaged position such that the wrench engages the nut in the distal engaged position and the wrench avoids engaging the nut in a proximal non-engaged position. An aligning ring may be located around the attaching member and may be configured to engage a shaft slot.
Pivot assembly bearing device and pivot assembly bearing device fabrication method
A technique for swinging swing arms stably by reducing vibrations of bearing units due to resonance in rolling bearings is provided. A pivot assembly bearing device 1 includes a shaft 10 extending in an axis Y1 direction, and an upper bearing unit 20 and a lower bearing unit 60 that are provided along the axis Y1 direction of the shaft 10. A natural frequency of the upper bearing unit 20 and a natural frequency of the lower bearing unit 60 in the axis Y1 direction of the shaft 10 differ from each other.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and installing a tamper indicating member
An apparatus for use in connecting a cover member to a retaining member coupled to a nut mounted to a shaft includes a body portion, arms, and a plurality of pressing members. The arms extend from the body portion relative to the nut such that contacting portions of the arms contact a rear side of the nut to connect the body portion to the nut. The plurality of pressing members extend from the body portion and is alignable with the plurality of tabs of a cover member when the cover member is located between the body and the nut. The body portion includes a press mechanism configured to cause a first pressing member of the pressing members to contact a first tab of the cover member to deform the first tab toward a retaining member coupled to the nut mounted on the shaft.
Adjustable spacer with hardened ends
An adjustable spacer with a non-hardened intermediate portion therebetween is mountable between a pair of roller bearings also mounted on a shaft such an axle or spindle or the like. The intermediate portion allows the spacer to collapse in the axial direction to maintain desired axial loads on the bearings.
Apparatus and method for preloading bearing assemblies
An apparatus for preloading a bearing assembly on a shaft includes a first annular threaded member positioned about the shaft and a second annular threaded member positioned about the shaft. The first and second threaded members have intermeshing threads such that rotation of the second threaded member causes axial translation of the first threaded member to apply a first axial force to the bearing assembly to preload the bearing assembly. An actuator is operable to rotate the second threaded member relative to the first threaded member to apply the first axial force to the bearing assembly.
System and method for assembling a slewing ring bearing with a predetermined preload
A slewing ring bearing includes an outer race and an inner race rotatable relative to the outer race. At least one of the outer race or the inner race is split into a first portion and a separate, second portion. The slewing ring bearing also has a plurality of roller elements arranged between one or more raceways defined by the inner and outer races. The first and second portions of at least one of the inner or outer races are coupled together via a threaded interface therebetween so as to establish a predetermined preload for the slewing ring bearing.
Drive
A drive (1) with a housing (2) and a toothed part (4) which is mounted rotatably relative thereto with a wire race bearing (15), wherein a threaded ring (23) is screwed onto the housing (2) or the toothed part (4), said threaded ring axially fixing the wire race bearing (15) and permitting an adjustment.
FLYWHEEL SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
A flywheel system comprises a flywheel rotor comprising a rotor disc and a rotor shaft and has a longitudinal axis extending centrally through the rotor disc and the rotor shaft. The system further comprises a journal assembly configured to facilitate rotation of the flywheel rotor. The journal assembly comprises a sleeve having an aperture extending therethrough from a first end to a second, opposite end, a rod at least partially disposed within the aperture of the sleeve, and a nut coupled to a portion of the rod. The rod has a length greater than the sleeve such that a portion the rod extends axially beyond the first end of the sleeve. A method of forming the flywheel comprises coupling the rod to the rotor shaft and pulling the second end of the rod to tension the rod. The nut maintains the tension in the rod when coupled thereto.
Structure for applying pre-load to rolling bearing and three-dimensional survey device having the same
A structure applies a pre-load to a rolling bearing, which makes pre-load control easier than heretofore and enables low cost production. A pre-load applying structure is configured to apply a pre-load to a bearing of a scanning part of a three-dimensional survey device. The three-dimensional survey device includes the bearing having an inner ring to which a vertically rotating shaft is fixed, a scanning mirror attached to the vertically rotating shaft, and a motor for rotationally driving the vertically driving shaft. The pre-load applying structure has a sleeve that engages with an outer ring of the bearing, a plate spring that detachably engages with the sleeve and is fastened to a housing body with a screw, and a ring that detachably join the sleeve and the plate spring. The plate spring applies the pre-load to the outer ring via the sleeve by elastic deforming.
