LANDING GEAR JOINT LUBRICATION
A pin assembly for insertion into a pin joint of an aircraft landing gear is disclosed. The pin assembly includes a reservoir for storing a lubricating agent and a piston mounted for reciprocal movement within the reservoir, the piston dividing the reservoir into a first chamber and a second chamber. A bi-directional flow path between the first and second chambers via the surface to be lubricated is provided by means of a first bi-directional flow path between the first chamber and the exterior of the pin assembly and a second bi-directional flow path between the second chamber and the exterior of the pin assembly. A pin assembly including an indicator system, and a pin insert in the form of a replaceable cartridge is also disclosed along with associated methods.
Reactor coolant pump set
Non-Volume displacement pumps used at nuclear power plants (NPP) in reactor coolant pump sets for the primary coolant circuit of the nuclear power system. The reactor coolant pump set comprising a vertical vane-type single-stage pump with bottom arrangement of the impeller, the pump shaft is connected to the electric motor shaft by a rigid coupling, the radial-axial bearing, installed in the electric motor upper chamber, is made of two main elements: a radial bearing made in the form of a rotor metallic bushing installed on the cylindrical part of the collar and an axial bearing consisting of two stator lever-type balance arm systems with cover plates of antifriction material and rotor cover plates of antifriction material. The radial-axial bearing is cooled by water from the NPP system, pressure head whereof is increased by the screw-type pump located on the upper butt of the radial-axial bearing collar.
Method of determining wear in a bearing surface
A method of determining an amount of wear in a spherical working surface of a bearing ring of a spherical plain bearing, the method including providing a reference groove of predetermined depth in an unworn working surface, using the reference groove and axial end faces of the bearing ring as reference surfaces for centering and aligning a measuring tool. The tool having a first surface, and a protrusion that extends from the first surface in radial direction and is adapted to fit into the reference groove and two or more radial openings that extend from a second surface of the tool. Determining the amount of wear by measuring the radial distance to the spherical working surface through each of the radial openings and comparing the measured value with a reference value measured using the tool for an unworn working surface comprising a reference groove of the same predetermined depth.
UPTOWER CRANE AND ROTOR LOCK FOR WIND TURBINE COMPONENT REPLACEMENT
A method for performing uptower maintenance of a wind turbine in order to replace the main bearing on the turbine shaft is disclosed. Embodiments of this method to perform maintenance may include installing a rotor lock to resist rotation of the main shaft during maintenance, providing a lifting device in order to elevate the main shaft, removing the main bearing from its main bearing housing, and installing a replacement split main bearing. A crane may also be installed uptower to assist in the maintenance.
Hybrid pump bearing for contamination resistance
A bearing carrier is provided. The bearing carrier including: a bearing body of a first material having a shaft-receiving aperture and a bridge land with a finger cut to channel fluid pressurized by intermeshing of gears rotatably supported by the bearing carrier into an outlet defined by a housing enveloping the bearing carrier, wherein the bearing body includes a bearing face configured to be in a facing spaced relationship with the gears, wherein the bearing face includes a second material integral with the first material, wherein at least one of the first material and the second material define a portion of the bearing face of the bearing body extending about the shaft-receiving aperture, the portion of the bearing face excluding the bridgeland.
TRANSMISSION ROLLER, AND PIN-TEETH CYCLOID REDUCER WITH THE SAME AND BEARING WITH THE SAME
The present invention provides a transmission roller, a pin-teeth cycloid reducer with the same and a bearing. The transmission roller comprises a hollow roller which is made by spirally and closely winding a steel strip or a steel wire, and the length of the hollow roller remains unchanged when both ends thereof distributed along the axial direction are squeezed. When the hollow roller is subjected to external pressure, the ends thereof will not be easily damaged, and will not extend to the middle part during use, thus having a long service life.
WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE PITCH BEARING
Provided is a wind turbine rotor blade pitch bearing for mounting a rotor blade to a hub, including a carrier with an annular arrangement of bearing pad seats; a plurality of bearing pads, wherein a bearing pad is arranged in each bearing pad seat of the carrier; and a gripping assembly for gripping the carrier, which gripping assembly including a sliding part arranged to lie against an annular arrangement of bearing pads and further includes an access window dimensioned to expose a bearing pad when opened. A wind turbine with a number of such pitch bearings; and a method of performing a service routine on a wind turbine rotor blade pitch bearing is further provided.
Uptower wind turbine component replacement
A method for performing uptower maintenance of a wind turbine in order to replace the main bearing on the turbine shaft is disclosed. Embodiments of this method to perform maintenance may include installing a rotor lock to resist rotation of the main shaft during maintenance, providing a lifting device in order to elevate the main shaft, removing the main bearing from its main bearing housing, and installing a replacement split main bearing. A crane may also be installed uptower to assist in the maintenance.
ROLLER SEATING DEVICE FOR TAPERED ROLLER BEARINGS
An assembly tool (104) for positioning the rolling elements (150, 155) of a bearing assembly (100) during a preloading operation includes a roller seating actuator (400) configured to be removably coupled to a portion of the bearing assembly during the preloading operation, and a roller seating ring (420) movably coupled to the roller seating actuator. The roller seating ring includes a distal end (440) configured to engage an end of a rolling element of the bearing assembly. A biasing member (460) is positioned between the roller seating actuator and the roller seating ring and biases the roller seating ring away from roller seating actuator such that the distal end of the roller seating ring engages and presses the rolling element axially into engagement with a rib (145) of a race of the bearing assembly.
