When a light source is desired a book light may expand to open to any angle, all the way open to 360 degrees and expose a folded flexible diffuser shade 200. The first and second back covers may be opened in any position to accommodate a desired spread of the flexible diffuser shade. Magnets in the first and second back covers help to retain the back covers in a desired position and to mate or chain other book lights together.
