Rotary cutting insert and support device
This invention relates to cutting tools used to machine materials to produce new surfaces and chips of removed material. Embodiments of this invention allow round rotating cutting inserts to be used in a more economical way, with improved accuracy, with improved sealing, and with greater ease of use. The rotary support device and cutting inserts may be used in either radial or tangential mounting types of cutters. It also provides a built-in, fully sealed means of fine adjustment of the cutting insert that is useful in some applications.
FOOL-PROOF TOOL COUPLING HAVING AXIALLY SPACED APART DRIVE MEMBERS AND ASSEMBLY METHOD THEREFOR
A tool coupling includes a first member, having a male coupling portion extending along a first axis, and a second member, having a female coupling portion extending along a second axis. The male coupling portion has front and rear drive members defining male front and rear footprints in respective first and second transverse mating planes. The female coupling portion has front and rear drive passages defining front and rear peripheral profiles in respective first and second transverse passage planes. The front and rear drive members respectively occupy the front and rear drive passages, and at least one of the front and rear drive members prevents rotation of the second member about the second axis. On imaginary rotation of the front peripheral profile by any angle about the second axis and axial projection thereof, the front peripheral profile overlaps (i.e., at least partially crosses) the rear footprint.
Bearing box for rotating roll that delivers high-temperature substance(s)
A bearing box for a rotating roll that delivers a high-temperature substance. The bearing box includes a bearing portion and a seal portion provided adjacent to the bearing portion and includes a first cooling liquid passage that is formed on the outer peripheral side of the bearing portion and through which a cooling liquid passes, and a second cooling liquid passage that is formed on the radially inner side relative to the first cooling liquid passage and on the outer peripheral side of the seal portion, the second cooling liquid passage communicating with the first cooling liquid passage to cause the cooling liquid to pass therethrough.
Guiding and centering device
The present invention relates to a guiding and centering device (10) for a forming tool (2), in particular an injection molding or die-casting tool, comprising a first mold half (1) and a second mold half (5) which are guided by guide means (7) from a closed position in which the respective separating surfaces of both mold halves (1; 5) are pressed against one another into an opened position and vice versa. This guiding and centering device (10) comprises a protruding guiding body (4) formed as a circular cylindrical bolt (12) provided at the first mold half (1), a guiding recess (6) formed as a bush (14) with an circular cylindrical inner surface (20) provided at the second mold half (5) and a rolling element cage (16) with rolling elements (17) inserted in rows (18), by means of which the two mold halves (1; 5) are guided and precisely centered in the closed position. The rolling element cage (16) is supported by the circular cylindrical inner surface (20) of the bush (14) and positioned via positioning means (30) in such a way that when closing the forming tool the circular cylindrical bolt (12) runs practically simultaneously in a first row of rolling elements (18.1) and a second row of rolling elements (18.2) of the rolling element cage (16).
Water bearing and food cutting assembly
A food cutter assembly can include a spindle body defining an interior passage for receiving a food product. The food cutter assembly can also include a thrust disc connected to the spindle body. The thrust disc can include opposing surfaces extending radially from the rotational axis of the spindle body and a circumferential surface between the opposing surfaces. A cutting tool can be connected to an end of the spindle body for cutting the food product. The food cutter assembly can also include a housing for rotationally mounting the spindle body, where the housing includes a radial bearing to be positioned proximate to the thrust disc. The spindle body and the housing can define fluid passages extending from a port in the housing through the radial bearing to the spindle body and across the opposing surfaces and the circumferential surface to the spindle body.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO PROTECT A PREFINISHED ROTOR JOURNAL OF A ROTOR DURING A MANUFACTURING PROCESS
A system for protecting a prefinished rotor journal of a rotor during a manufacturing process is provided. The system includes a manufacturing fixture. The fixture includes a plurality of supply lines providing a plurality of pressurized flows. The fixture further includes a plurality of static flow bearings configured for suspending the prefinished rotor journal between the plurality of static flow bearings without the prefinished rotor journal contacting the plurality of static flow bearings. Each of the static flow bearings includes a central duct receiving one of the plurality of pressurized flows. The central duct is configured for directing the one of the plurality of pressurized flows at the prefinished rotor journal.
Water bearing and food cutting assembly
A method for lubricating a radial bearing of a food cutter assembly is disclosed. The method can include receiving a supply of water at a housing for rotationally mounting a spindle body having a rotational axis, where the housing includes a radial bearing proximate to a thrust disc of the spindle body. The thrust disc can include opposing surfaces extending radially from the rotational axis of the spindle body and a circumferential surface between the opposing surfaces. The water can be directed through fluid passages extending from a port in the housing through the radial bearing to the spindle body and across the opposing surfaces and the circumferential surface to the spindle body. The spindle body may be rotated while the water is directed through the fluid passages to create a water film between the housing and the spindle body that reduces friction between the housing and the spindle body.
Bearing for a tube shaft of a bandsaw-blade twister
A slotted tube shaft carrying a blade head of a blade twister rotates in a slotted, stationary bearing housing for an endless band-shaped cutting or sawing element supported by two axially spaced subassemblies each having C-shaped, axially spaced, and slotted inner and outer bearing washers radially between the slotted stationary bearing housing and the slotted tube shaft. The inner and outer washers are fixed in the stationary bearing housing against rotation relative thereto with slots of the stationary bearing housing and washers radially aligned with one another. Respective sets of at least three roller bearings centered on and angularly distributed about the axis and fixed against angular movement between each of the inner washers and the respective outer washer. Each roller bearing radially outwardly engages the slotted stationary bearing housing and radially inwardly engages the tube shaft.
Rubber Balers
A bailing apparatus may include a multi-component bolster assemblies that may ease installation and removal, reduce wear and tear and maintenance, and/or improve baling efficiency by reducing material waste, imperfections, and/or contamination. The bolster assemblies may include a plurality of coupling portions that engage a hydraulic rod and may enable the bolster assembly to self-center within a press chamber during normal baling operations. The bolster assemblies also may include an island portion that may be attached to the coupling portions and to a bolster cap, and the latter may be attached using retainer bolts having substantially planar heads that may define lips that run about frustums. The bolts may substantially planar head may reduce irregularities in the bale and the lips may prevent material seepage into the bolster assemblies.
