A multifunctional, highly visible and perceptible optical workplace status display system. In particular, the optical workstation status display system should make the occupancy or availability of the office workstation, the usage status of office communication devices and/or the status of the employee optically visible. The workstation status display system should be adaptable to different office workstations and individual requirements.

A method and system of selecting information from video sources to be displayed on at least a subset of a plurality of display screen presentation spaces, the method comprising the steps of providing at least first and second independent selectable control interfaces, each interface including a separately selectable control uniquely associated with each of the display screen presentation spaces, uniquely associating first and second video sources with the first and second control interfaces, for each control interface, receiving an indication each time one of the selectable controls is selected and, upon receiving an indication, providing the video source associated with the control interface used to make the selection to the display screen presentation space associated with the selected selectable control.

A computer-implemented method for operating a set of electronic sensors. The method includes detecting, by one or more sensors embedded in a table, that a tray associated with a user is placed on the table. The method further includes detecting, by the one or more sensors embedded in the table, a first weight of contents on the tray at a first time, and detecting, by the one or more sensors embedded in the table, a second weight of the contents on the tray at a second time. The method further includes determining a final weight of the contents on the tray when the tray is no longer associated with the user.

A computer-implemented method for operating a set of electronic sensors. The method includes detecting, by one or more sensors embedded in a table, that a tray associated with a user is placed on the table. The method further includes detecting, by the one or more sensors embedded in the table, a first weight of contents on the tray at a first time, and detecting, by the one or more sensors embedded in the table, a second weight of the contents on the tray at a second time. The method further includes determining a final weight of the contents on the tray when the tray is no longer associated with the user.
