Disconnect apparatus and a method of sensing a state thereof

A disconnect apparatus including a first clutch member and a second clutch member in selective engagement with the first clutch member. The disconnect apparatus also includes a cam mechanism and a sensor assembly. The cam mechanism includes an axially movable first cam member and an axially fixed second cam member, wherein the sensor assembly generates a pulse pattern which is utilized to determine a position of the first cam member, and thereby a state of the disconnect apparatus.

Dual-clutch transmission arrangement, and motor vehicle

A dual clutch arrangement for a dual clutch transmission includes a first clutch and a second clutch. The output of the first clutch is connected to the input of the second clutch. A dual clutch transmission arrangement with the dual clutch arrangement and a motor vehicle with the dual clutch arrangement are also provided.

CONTROL OF A POWER TAILGATE SYSTEM RESPONSIVE TO CLUTCH SLIPPAGE

A method for controlling a power tailgate in a vehicle power tailgate system includes steps of controlling operation of a motor to attempt to lower or raise a tailgate operably connected to the motor, determining that a clutch interposed between the motor and the tailgate (and operably connected to the motor and the tailgate) slipped by at least a predetermined slip amount during operation of the motor to attempt to lower or raise the tailgate and, responsive to the determination that the clutch slipped by at least the predetermined slip amount, generating an alert indicating a need for manual reset of the tailgate.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

The automatic transmission has, on an axis of a power transmission shaft: a one-side clutch including a plurality of friction plates; and an other-side clutch including a plurality of friction plate. A pressing section of a piston of the one-side clutch and a pressing section of a piston of the other-side clutch are arranged to overlap each other in an axial direction. On one side in the axial direction of the plurality of friction plates of the one-side clutch, a radial section of the piston of the one-side clutch and a radial section of the piston of the other-side clutch are arranged in parallel in the axial direction. Pressure-receiving sections of the pistons of the one-side clutch and the other-side clutch and bearing sections of the pistons of the one-side clutch and the other-side clutch are aggregated and arranged on a radially inner side.

OPERATIONAL MODES FOR ELECTRIFIED FIRE FIGHTING VEHICLE

A fire fighting vehicle includes a chassis, a front axle, a rear axle, an engine, a battery system, an electromagnetic device, an accessory drive, and a controller. The accessory drive is positioned to receive a mechanical input from the engine and the electromagnetic device. The controller is configured to selectively engage a plurality of operational modes including a standby mode and a hybrid mode. According to the standby mode, the controller is configured to operate the electromagnetic device using stored energy stored in the battery system to drive the accessory drive with the engine off. According to the hybrid mode, the controller is configured to operate both the engine and the electromagnetic device.
