Vibratory bandgap device
A vibratory isolator in one example comprises at least one uniform mass inertia component and at least one uniform compliant component which are configured to exhibit a vibratory bandgap and which are configured to exhibit shear/bending coupling. A further implementation of the invention comprises a vibratory isolator comprised of an isolator and a plurality of disk inertias affixed to the isolator such that the vibratory isolator exhibits a vibrational bandgap in a predetermined frequency range.
Seismic isolation assembly
A seismic isolation assembly is defined by a first support plate and a second support plate disposed in parallel relation with a spacing being provided between the support plates. The first support plate is connected to ground and the second support plate is attached to a structure to be isolated. A set of wire rope isolators are disposed between the first and second support plates as well as at least one linear damper that is angularly disposed and mounted between the first and second support plates.

Damping adhesive
Adhesive damping systems are described. A damping system for reducing the effects on a substrate caused by a disruption in the substrate environment includes an adhesive having a plurality of three-dimensional nanoparticles dispersed therein. The nanoparticles are configured to provide a controlled response to an applied force field. The system further includes a sensor which measures an amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption. In a use configuration, the sensor determines the amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption received by the substrate; and the applied force field is dependent on the amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption.
Decelerator packed tether as an intermediate article of manufacture
A Decelerator Packed Tether constructed with a Bungee Section and a Deployment Section in a combination of materials which, when combined as herein described, and a fall is experienced by the user, the maximum arrest force is one that will present the least amount of impact on the user conventional safety harnesses.
Stable shape-reconfigurable structures and mechanisms
In one embodiment, a shape-reconfigurable structure includes a rigid base having first and second ends, a rigid first beam having a lateral end and a central end, the lateral end being connected to the first end of the base, and a rigid second beam having a lateral end and a central end, the lateral end of the second beam being connected to the second end of the base and the central end of the second beam being connected to the central end of the first beam, wherein the structure can be placed in an expanded orientation in which the first and second beams extend outward away from the base and a contracted orientation in which the first and second beams extend inward toward the base.

Damper for energy dissipation
A damper for energy dissipation, including a core plate, at least four restrain plates and at least four connecting plates. The connecting plates are provided on two ends of the core plate, and the restrain plates are provided on middle of the core plate. The core plate is provided with a first hole, a second hole and a third hole. The connecting plate includes a first plate body and a second plate body connected with an end thereof. A first fastener passes through the first hole to connect the first plate body with the core plate. A second fastener passes through the second hole to connect the second plate body with the core plate. A third fastener passes through the third hole to connect the restrain plate with the core plate. The second plate body is located between two restrain plates.

DAMPING DEVICE, STACKER CRANE, TRANSPORT SYSTEM, AND DAMPING DEVICE JIG
A damping device includes a damper provided to an outer end of a stacker crane in a traveling direction. The damper includes: a rod member extending along the traveling direction; a first biasing member configured to bias the rod member outward in the traveling direction; and a movement restriction mechanism configured to allow inward movement of the rod member in the traveling direction and restrict outward movement of the rod member in the traveling direction when the rod member has moved inward in the traveling direction.
