Reduction of haptic noise feedback in system

An information handling system has a haptic generation module to generate haptic effects including haptic noise and a haptic noise reduction module. The haptic noise reduction module receives characteristics of sound representative of haptic noise generated by a haptic generation module of a device and entering an audio input module of the device, the characteristics including frequencies and timing. It also detects the generation of haptic effects, the generations occurring after the receiving characteristics. It also reduces the effects of haptic noise on digital data representing audio input to the device based upon the received characteristics of the sound. It may reduce the effects by subtracting amplitudes of audio waves representing the haptic noise from amplitudes of audio waves representing the audio input.

A tuned mass system has a bulk mass acted upon by an excitation amplitude and a reaction mass coupled to the bulk mass. A resistance-to-motion controlled coupling mechanism associated with the reaction mass is configured to proportionally modulate independent of excitation force such that the relative phase of the bulk mass and the reaction mass is substantially constant throughout an extended range of excitation amplitude. The resistance-to-motion controlled coupling mechanism is a Variable Aperture Reciprocating Reed (VARR) Valve in one embodiment, and operates as a passive mechanism. In other embodiments, active resistance-to-motion controlled coupling mechanisms are employed.

Piezoelectric liquid inertia vibration eliminator

A tunable vibration isolator with active tuning elements having a housing, fluid chamber, and at least one tuning port. A piston is resiliently disposed within the housing. A vibration isolation fluid is disposed within the fluid chambers and the tuning ports. The tunable vibration isolator may employ either a solid tuning mass approach or a liquid tuning mass approach. The active vibration elements are preferably solid-state actuators.

A vibration control system for a variable speed cooling system includes a programmable controller in communication with a variable frequency drive (VFD). The programmable controller is programmed to command the VFD to operate at frequencies only outside of one or more frequency lockout bands automatically calculated by the programmable controller based on a comparison of newly acquired variable speed cooling system vibration data with previously stored variable speed cooling system vibration specification data.

Platform stabilization system

A platform stabilization system comprises a support frame, a platform and a plurality of isolators each extending directly between the support frame and the platform. Each isolator permits linear movement of the platform relative to the support frame with three degrees of freedom and permits rotational movement of the platform relative to the support frame with three degrees of freedom. The isolators cooperate to form an isolation array supporting the platform directly within, and spacing the platform from, the support frame. The isolation array permits limited linear movement of the platform within the support frame with three degrees of freedom and permits limited rotational movement of the platform relative to the support frame with three degrees of freedom. The isolation array is substantially more resistant to linear movement of the platform than to rotational movement of the platform and does not rotationally constrain the platform.

Identifying effects of geometric variations of physical parts

Identifying effects of geometric variations of physical parts may include measuring one or more surfaces of a physical part in three-dimensions, analyzing measurements of the physical part to determine a geometric variation from a baseline model, modifying an existing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) mesh for the baseline model based on the geometric variation using a mesh metamorphosis algorithm to create a target mesh for the physical part, and analyzing the target mesh using a CFD analysis to determine an effect (e.g., an effect on unsteadiness) in a system caused by the geometric variation.

Damping adhesive

Adhesive damping systems are described. A damping system for reducing the effects on a substrate caused by a disruption in the substrate environment includes an adhesive having a plurality of three-dimensional nanoparticles dispersed therein. The nanoparticles are configured to provide a controlled response to an applied force field. The system further includes a sensor which measures an amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption. In a use configuration, the sensor determines the amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption received by the substrate; and the applied force field is dependent on the amplitude and frequency spectrum of the disruption.
