Transmission and transfer case with torque sensing
A powertrain incorporates a link shaft between the transmission output shaft and downstream components in order to facilitate use of a torque sensor. The link shaft includes an inner section splined to the output shaft and an outer section treated to produce a magnetic field that varies based on transmitted torque. The inner section and outer section are separated by a circumferential gap that directs the torque past the treated surface. Use of the link shaft eliminates the need to directly treat the transmission output shaft. Separating the spline and the treated surface radially reduces the axial length required for torque sensing and allows commonality among variants with and without torque sensors and between two wheel drive and four wheel drive variants.

Transmission device of automatic document feeder
A transmission device of automatic document feeder includes a pickup roller assembly, a paper-feed roller assembly, a paper-out roller assembly, a pickup gear assembly for driving the pickup roller assembly, a first transmission gear assembly, a second transmission gear assembly, a drive gear assembly and a motor. The paper-feed roller assembly includes a paper-feed shaft. The paper-out roller assembly includes a paper-out shaft. The first transmission gear assembly includes a first one-way gear and a second one-way gear. The motor bidirectionally drives the drive gear assembly. The motor drives the drive gear assembly to drive the first one-way gear together with the second transmission gear assembly or the second one-way gear together with the second transmission gear assembly to drive the paper-out shaft and the paper-feed shaft to unidirectionally rotate towards the same direction.
Crowned profile driveshaft journal
In at least some implementations, a differential for a vehicle includes a pinion gear, a pair of side gears and a housing. The side gears are meshed with the pinion gear and the housing defines a cavity in which the pinion gear and side gears are received. The housing also has an opening with an inner end leading to the cavity and an outer end spaced from the inner end. The opening is adapted to receive a shaft therethrough for coupling of the shaft to one of the side gears and the opening is defined at least in part by a journal surface. The journal surface is concave with respect to the shaft and provides a converging portion from the inner end to a central portion between the inner end and outer end and a diverging portion from the central portion to the outer end.

Magnetic clutch with foreign material extraction and cooling
The present teachings provide for a clutch including a hub, a rotor, and an electromagnet. The hub can be rotatable about a central axis. The rotor can be rotatable about the central axis and can be rotatable relative to the hub. The rotor can define an annular cavity that can be disposed about the central axis. A surface of the annular cavity can define at least one groove that can extend helically about the central axis. The electromagnet can be received in the annular cavity. When the electromagnet is energized, the hub can engage the rotor to transmit torque between the hub and rotor.
