PROTECTION DEVICE FOR A DRIVETRAIN OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A protection device for a drivetrain of a motor vehicle having an engine and an automatic transmission, with at least one hydraulic converter. In order to protect the drivetrain, the protection device has a sensor device and a control device. The sensor device is designed to detect a rolling movement of the motor vehicle counter to the selected direction of travel of an engaged gearspeed of the automatic transmission, and the control device is designed to control a brake system of the motor vehicle as a function of the detected rolling movement, in order to limit a rolling speed of the motor vehicle counter to the selected direction of travel to a maximum speed.
INERTIAL WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER
A wave energy converter generates power from a wave-induced separation of a positively buoyant flotation module and a submerged negatively buoyant mass, using a rotating pulley to drive a power-take-off system.
MECHANICAL POWER CONVERSION DEVICE
A mechanical power conversion device includes a housing filled with a fluid, at least one control assembly arranged in the housing, and at least one stationary sleeve. The control assembly includes an input shaft and an intermediate output shaft, and defines a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port. The stationary sleeve is arranged in the housing. The input shaft is installed with an impeller device in the stationary sleeve. A movable sleeve is fitted around the stationary sleeve such that the distance between the movable sleeve and the control assembly can be adjusted. The impeller device can be rotated by the input shaft to force the fluid to enter the control assembly via the fluid inlet port and exit the control assembly via the fluid outlet port to control mechanical power or torque being transferred from the input shaft to the intermediate ouput shaft.
Centrifugal pendulum absorber for a torque converter
A centrifugal pendulum absorber for a torque converter is provided. The centrifugal pendulum absorber includes a center plate; a roller received in a roller slot formed in the center plate; and a first mass on a rear axial side of the center plate and a second mass on a front axial side of the center plate. The first and second masses are slidable with respect to the center plate along the slot roller. The first mass includes a first radially extending section and a first axial protrusion extending axially past a rear-side axial surface of the first radially extending section. The second mass includes a second radially extending section and a second axial protrusion extending axially past a front-side axial surface of the second radially extending section. A torque converter and a method of forming a centrifugal pendulum absorber are also provided.

POWER TRANSMISSION APPARATUS
A power transmission apparatus includes an oil pump disposed between a hydraulic controller and a strainer. The oil pump includes a rotor (3) and a housing provided with a rotor chamber housing the rotor (3). Rotation of the rotor (3) causes oil to be sucked into an oil chamber (c1) defined by the rotor (3), and the oil is pressurized and discharged therefrom. The housing is provided with a first oil passage (71) through which oil sucked from a reservoir through the strainer flows toward the oil chamber, and a second oil passage (72) through which oil refluxed from the hydraulic controller flows toward the oil chamber. The second oil passage (72) includes a curved oil passage curved along the rotor (3) and is disposed such that the oil refluxed from the hydraulic controller flows in a rotation direction of the rotor (3) through the curved oil passage.
Necked impeller shell for torque converter
An impeller for a torque converter comprising: an axis of rotation; an impeller shell comprising: a torus portion; a radial wall portion; an elbow portion; an interior portion; and, an axially extending necked portion, extending about the axis of rotation and into the interior portion, having: a first circumferential surface; and, a second circumferential surface.
