METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE CONDITION OF A PISTON ROD SEALING SYSTEM OF A PISTON COMPRESSOR
A method for monitoring the condition of a piston rod sealing system of a piston compressor, the system having at least two annular chambers arranged one behind the other in a longitudinal direction and each having a sealing element arranged therein. A piston rod running through the sealing elements and the annular chambers is moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction, sealed by the sealing elements. The system has an inlet side and an outlet side, between which a difference in pressure occurs, and said difference in pressure has static and dynamic pressure component. When there is leakage gas in the annular chambers, at least the dynamic pressure component of the leakage gas is measured in the piston rod sealing system. A change in the condition of at least one of the sealing elements is determined from a change in the dynamic pressure component as a function of time.
Sealing arrangements in gas turbines
The invention concerns a gas turbine having a picture frame, a first vane, and a sealing arrangement to seal a gap between the picture frame and the first vane, the sealing arrangement including two seals arranged in series between the picture frame and the first vane. In exemplary embodiments, one of the seals is a honeycomb seal, a dogbone seal, a hula seal or a piston seal and the other seal is a honeycomb seal, a dogbone seal, a hula seal or a piston seal. A method of supplying cooling fluid to the gap between the picture frame and the first vane is also disclosed.

Sealing apparatus capable of rotational motion
Provided is a sealing apparatus capable of linear and rotational motion including a housing; a hollow first shaft penetrating and coupled to the housing; a first sealing member provided between the housing and the first shaft to seal therebetween; a second shaft of which at least a part is inserted into the first shaft; a second sealing member provided between the first shaft and the second shaft to seal therebetween; and a third sealing member provided on either an inner circumferential surface of the first shaft or an outer circumferential surface of the second shaft.
Increased visibility of indicating markers in a structure and associated system and method
Disclosed herein is an indicating marker and method of use for removably attaching the indicating marker to a structure comprising an opening. The indicating marker comprises a cover device configured to removably seal the opening of the structure. At least one light is attached to the cover device. A power source is electrically connectable to the at least one light to emit a visible light from the at least light and illuminate the cover device. Alternatively, a wireless signal emitter is attached to the cover device and is configured to receive a signal from a wireless signal receiver separate from the structure and transmit a wireless response signal to the wireless signal receiver. In one example, both a light and a wireless signal emitter are attached to the cover device.

DETERMINING SYSTEM
A determining system includes an acquiring unit that acquires a color value of a target seal material, a storage unit that stores a color value of each of a plurality of candidate seal materials of different types, a color difference calculating unit that calculates a color difference between each of the candidate seal materials and the target seal material based on the color value of each of the candidate seal materials and the color value of the target seal material, a degree of coincidence calculating unit that calculates a degree of coincidence between each of the candidate seal materials and the target seal material based on the color difference between each of the candidate seal materials and the target seal material, and a determining unit that determines a type of the target seal material based on each of the degrees of coincidence calculated.
HYDRAULIC DEVICE WITH SLEEVE INSERT
A hydraulic device is provided with a sleeve insert disposed between a driven hub and a stationary housing. The hydraulic device further includes a hydraulic motor to actuate the driven hub through a drive shaft and a coupling mechanism. A sealing element is disposed between the sleeve insert and the stationary housing. The sleeve insert is fixed to the driven hub and disposed between the stationary housing and the driven hub to provide a riding surface on which the sealing element slides as the driven hub rotates relative to the stationary housing.
