A sealing device has a seal ring in a groove having a step, a first backup ring at the step in the groove, and a second backup ring, in the groove, between both rings offset from the step. The first backup ring includes a bottom-surface-side peripheral surface facing the step's bottom surface, an end surface facing the step's non-sealed-fluid-side side surface, a peripheral surface adjacent to the other member and facing the other member, and a slope facing the second backup ring. The length of the bottom-surface-side peripheral surface is equal to or smaller than the length of the bottom surface of the step. The second backup ring includes a peripheral surface facing the bottom surface of the groove, an end surface facing the non-sealed-fluid-side side surface of the groove, a slope facing the slope of the first backup ring, and a sealed-fluid-side end surface facing the seal ring.

A sealing device includes a metal ring, a main lip, an annular elastic body, a sliding ring, and biasing means. The metal ring is hermetically fixed to a housing. The main lip is bonded to the metal ring and is slidably in close contact with an outer periphery surface of a rotating body inserted through an inner circumference of the housing. The annular elastic body is bonded to the metal ring on an outer side of the main lip, and stretchable in an axial direction. The sliding ring is provided at an end portion of the annular elastic body on a side opposite the metal ring, and is slidably in close contact with a seal flange attached to an outer periphery of the rotating body. The biasing means is configured to elastically press the sliding ring against the seal flange, thereby maintaining stable sealability over an extended period of time.

A seal assembly for use in a turbomachine, the seal assembly comprising an oil seal plate; a rotatable component which defines a central axis and is received in a central aperture of the oil seal plate; and an annular seal which comprises a base and a sealing portion, the base being held by the rotatable component; wherein the sealing portion is configured to form a seal with the oil seal plate when the rotatable component and annular seal are rotating below a predetermined rotational speed; and wherein the sealing portion is configured to move radially outwards with respect to the central axis such that the sealing portion loses contact with the oil seal plate when the rotatable component and annular seal are rotating above the predetermined rotational speed.

Corrugated pipe gasket

A gasket is adapted for sealing a joint between bell and spigot ends of corrugated pipes. The gasket generally includes a pair of seal lobes which provide a redundant double seal, together with an anchoring portion sized to be received in a trough defined by the pipe corrugation and at least one anti-roll lip adapted to engage the anchoring corrugation.

A yarn in which slipping of filler materials from a tubular member can be reduced while suppressing the manufacturing cost is provided. The yarn has a tubular member, and a plurality of filler materials that are formed into a strip-like shape, and is configured by loading the filler materials into the tubular member in a state where the longitudinal directions of the filler materials are made extending along the axial direction of the tubular member. In the yarn, the tubular member is configured by using wire material that is knitted so as to produce stitches. The wire material has arcuate loop portions that define parts of external shapes of the stitches. In a state where the tubular member is developed, the loop portions are expanded in a direction that is inclined with respect to a straight line that extends in the axial direction of the tubular member.

Bidirectionally testable seal configuration

A seal assembly made up of multiple opposite oriented unidirectional seals. The assembly includes a dedicated test port for each of the unidirectional seals. Thus, a first test port may be directed at the first seal such that if the first seal leaks, the second seal is configured to collapse and allow a second test port coupled thereto to detect the leak of the first seal. By the same token, the first test port may be used to detect any leak in the second seal which is detectable as the first seal collapses as a result of the leak. This unique type of architecture allows for a reliable manner of testing a multiple seal assembly that may be prone to leaks from multiple directions, for example from either a bore or an annular side of a tubular. This renders the bidirectionally testable seal configuration beneficial for incorporation into downhole completions hardware such at the location of a test gauge secured to a carrier device.

SEALING SYSTEM HAVING PRESSURE RELIEF ELEMENTS AND USE OF A SEALING SYSTEM TO PRODUCE AN INTERMEDIATE-SPACE PRESSURE CASCADE

A sealing system is between two components, which are translatorily movable relative to each other along a motional axis for sealing off a high-pressure side from a low-pressure side. The sealing system includes pressure relief elements. The use of such a sealing system produces an intermediate-space pressure cascade.

CUTTER DEVICE OF JAR

A cutter device of jar includes a shell defining a top, a bottom and an accommodation chamber, a drive shaft inserted through the top and bottom of the shell, one or multiple blades mounted onto the drive shaft and located on the top of the shell, a first oil seal mounted into the accommodation chamber of the shell near the top of the shell and abutted against the periphery of the drive shaft, one or multiple bearings mounted into the accommodation chamber of shell and connected to the shell and the drive shaft, and a second oil seal mounted into the accommodation chamber of the shell near the bottom of the shell and abutted against the periphery of the drive shaft.

Multi-component aerosol-generating device with impact absorbing part

An aerosol-generating system includes a main body, a cartridge, and a connecting component. The main body includes a main body housing enclosing a power supply. The cartridge includes a cartridge housing enclosing a reservoir of liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The cartridge is releasably connectable to the main body by the connecting component. The connecting component is fixed to the main body housing and is less stiff in at least one direction than the main body housing. The connecting component that is less stiff the main body housing and the cartridge housing can act as a shock absorber when the aerosol-generating system experiences a significant impact, such as when dropped on a surface. This reduces damage to other components of the system and, in particular, may prevent leaks of liquid resulting from damage to the liquid reservoir.
