A piston of a fluid pressure cylinder comprises a sealing ring interposed in a sealing ring accommodation groove, a piston ring that is interposed in a piston ring accommodation groove of the piston and comprises a fractured portion, and a backup ring that is attached to an outer peripheral surface of the piston and contacts the sealing ring and the piston ring. A groove for holding the backup ring is not required, and therefore a diameter of the piston can be reduced relative to the sealing ring. As a result, attachment of the sealing ring to the piston is simplified.

High temperature fluid sample aging cell

Exemplary embodiments of a high temperature aging cell provide a metal-to-metal fluid seal, and generally include a central tension post containing a flange having an inclined surface; and a seal ring concentrically arranged thereon, its outer circumference positioned at least partly intermediate the flange and the cell interior surface. In various embodiments, a thrust ring retains the seal ring; a thrust washer engages the thrust ring; a tension ring is attached to the tension post for biasing the thrust ring toward the flange; and an outer cap retains various components in relation to the aging cell. A pressure control device allows for pressure elevation. Exemplary embodiments of a sample aging method generally include aging a liquid sample by sealing the sample in the cell via biasing of the seal ring into sealing engagement with an interior surface of the cell. Subsequent sample treatment may involve elevating its temperature and/or pressure.

A coupling for an irrigation system may have a first member and a second member, each of which has threads that engage a threaded fitting of an adjacent component. The first member may have a shank and a flange that has a greater exterior dimension than the shank. The flange may have a first locking extension. The second member may have a bore that receives the shank such that the second member is slidable along the base member between a locked configuration in which rotation of the second member about the centerline induces rotation of the base member about the centerline, and an unlocked configuration, in which the second member is rotatable about the centerline independently of rotation of the base member. The second member may further have a first recess that receives the first locking extension in the locked configuration.

A downhole rotary seal assembly is provided that includes a primary rotary seal, a barrier seal, and a seal carrier. The seal carrier includes an inner surface, an outer surface, and a first groove dimensioned to receive the primary rotary seal at the inner surface. The seal carrier also includes a second groove dimensioned to receive the barrier seal at the inner surface. An aperture is defined on the inner surface between the first groove and the second groove. A relief port is positioned between the first groove and the second groove, the relief port being positioned to fluidly couple the aperture and the outer surface. A valve provided in the relief port. The valve includes a check valve having a predefined crack pressure.

Triple sealing seat for a conduit gate valve

A triple sealing seat is provided in a conduit gate valve having at least one shut-off plate which is displaceable between an open and closed position with respect to the conduit. The triple sealing seat forms a substantially annular sealing surface. In order to increase the tightness, the annular sealing surface comprises a radial interior sealing and scraping edge which can be contacted with the shut-off plate during operation. Also provided is a first circumferential groove located radially further outside which is in communication with a first gas channel and to which a sealing gas pressure can be applied. Also provided is a second circumferential groove located radially further outside which is in communication with a second gas channel and to which a sealing gas pressure can be applied. Moreover a single-plate gate valve and a double-plate gate valve comprising the triple sealing seat are disclosed, along with a method for sealing a shut-off plate of a conduit gate valve by using the triple sealing seat.
