Directly connected drill pipe applicable to extreme conditions

A directly connected drill pipe applicable to extreme conditions includes a tool joint pin and a tool joint box, where an external pipe section is located on an external side of a threaded section of the tool joint pin, and an annular groove is formed between the external pipe section and the threaded section of the tool joint pin. An insertion section of the tool joint box can be inserted into the annular groove in a matched manner. A main shoulder of the tool joint pin is located at an end of the external pipe section, a main auxiliary shoulder of the tool joint pin is located on a bottom surface of the annular groove, and an auxiliary shoulder of the tool joint pin is located at a small end of the tool joint pin. The tool joint box has three corresponding shoulders which form a 3-stage sealing with the tool joint pin.

A system includes a box end disposed on a first tubular. The box end includes a first shoulder, a sealing surface, a first distal portion, and first threads disposed between the sealing surface and the first distal portion. The system further includes a pin end on a second tubular. The pin end includes a second shoulder, a second distal portion comprising an extended lip, and second threads disposed between the second shoulder and the extended lip. A first swellable element is disposed around the extended lip and the pin end is inserted into the box end to form the expandable connection. Upon expansion of the expandable connection, the first swellable element seals against the sealing surface. Upon separation of the expandable connection, the extended lip of the pin end acts as a floating seal assembly with the box end acting as a receptacle for the floating seal assembly.

Fluid connector

An example fitting includes: a fitting body having counterbore, where the counterbore defines an annular shoulder within tire fitting body: a spring having a first end interfacing with the annular shoulder of the counterbore; and a seal carrier having: (i) a first end face interfacing with a second end of the spring, (ii) a second end face configured to interface with an internal surface of a port, such that the spring is configured to apply a biasing force on the seal carrier toward the internal surface of the port, (iii) a first annular groove on an exterior peripheral surface of the seal carrier, where the first annular groove is configured to have a radial seal disposed therein, and (iv) a second annular groove in the second end face, where the second annular groove is configured to have a face seal disposed therein.

Screw joint for oil well pipe

A screw joint in which an efficient screw length of a joint portion is achieved. This screw joint is for an oil well pipe of an integral type and includes: (i) a pin that is provided with a male screw portion which is a male taper screw, at one end of a steel pipe; and (ii) a box that is provided with a female screw portion which is a female taper screw fitted to the male screw portion, at one end of the steel pipe, in which a structure, in which the pin and the box are in metal contact with each other to seal a fluid, is provided at least at one place of a seal portion on an outer peripheral surface side of a pipe end side of the pin and a seal portion on an inner peripheral surface side of a pipe end side of the box.

THREADED CONNECTION FOR PIPE

In a threaded connection for pipe with intermediate shoulder surfaces provided between two thread steps for functioning as torque shoulders, the compression resistance under repeatedly applied combined loads is improved. The axial distance between the box intermediate shoulder surface 33 and box end shoulder surface 34 of the box 3 before make-up, L.sub.B, is larger than the axial distance between the pin intermediate shoulder surface 23 and pin end shoulder surface 24 of the pin 2 before make-up, L.sub.P, such that, upon completion of make-up, the pin and box intermediate shoulder surfaces 23 and 33 are in strong pressure contact to function as torque shoulders, while the pin and box end shoulder surfaces 24 and 34 are not in contact or are in light contact. The difference between the axial distances, (L.sub.B−L.sub.P), is such that, when the pin 2 and box 3 are made up and upon application of a certain magnitude of axial compressive load, the pin 2 and box 3 are slightly axially compressed by the compressive load and the pin end shoulder surface 24 comes into pressure contact with the box end shoulder surface 34 to bear part of the compressive load.

Composite transition fitting

A pipe fitting having a first body and a second body that together at least partially define a fluid flow passage. The first body defines a first portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a first end of the fluid flow passage to a first internal opening. The second body defines a second portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a second internal opening to a second end of the fluid flow passage. The first body has a first interface surface that surrounds the first internal opening, the first interface surface having a plurality of anti-rotation grooves. The second body has a second interface surface that surrounds the second internal opening and engages with the first interface surface. The first internal opening is in fluid communication with the second internal opening. The second interface surface has a plurality of anti-rotation fingers that are each received by and engage with a corresponding one of the anti-rotation grooves. Rotation of the second body relative to the first body is resisted by the engagement of the anti-rotation fingers with the anti-rotation grooves.
