Fluid-conducting connection with clamping ring
A connection for conducting pressurized fluids between a tube and a connection component having a bore for receiving the tube. A clamping ring surrounds the tube and is seated on a seat between first and second bore segments and has an annular lip extending away from the seat. A locking bolt having a through-hole receiving the tube is threaded into the first bore segment and contacts the ring, an annular collar projecting from the locking bolt surrounding the lip and urging it radially inward to grip the tube when the bolt is tightened against the clamping ring. A sealing ring surrounding the tube is positioned between the clamping ring and a sealing ring seat defined between the second and third bore segments.
Quick connect and quick disconnect system male component
A quick connect/disconnect system male component includes a first body and a ring assembly. The first body defines a fluid channel therethrough. The first body includes a first coupling portion at a first end portion and a second coupling portion at a second end portion. The first coupling portion is configured to couple with a fluid conduit and the second coupling portion configured to couple with a female quick connect/disconnect system component. The ring assembly is supported by the first body. The ring assembly extends about the second coupling portion and includes a first mating feature on an internal surface of the ring assembly configured to rotatably engage a second mating feature on an external surface of the female quick connect/disconnect system component.
Press fitting device, components and method
A press fitting device, components and method provide one or more indicators to provide a visual indication that the fitting has been properly pressed around a tube and that the correct amount of pressure has been provided to create a permanent seal. In embodiments, the present invention includes a fitting having a main body component with a packing arrangement including a sealing ring, a lock ring support member, a lock ring and a malleable and expandable indicator ring.
CLOSURE FOR PRESSURIZED DUCTS
Disclosed is a closure for ducts or receptacles for pressurized fluids, including an annular supporting structure (10), which defines an opening (11) for accessing the duct or receptacle, and a hatch (30), connected in an articulated manner to the supporting structure (10), with the ability to move between a closed position and an open position, wherein the supporting structure (10) includes a sealing surface (13), characterized in that it includes a sealing element (20) that can be positioned in the opening (11), the sealing element (20) including an expansible portion (21) with an inner surface (24) facing the duct and an outer surface (23) facing the sealing surface (13), the expansible portion (21) being able to expand as a result of the pressure of the fluid that acts on the inner surface (24) so that the outer surface (24) is placed in contact with the sealing surface (13).
Seal arrangements for ultrasonically powered surgical instruments
A method of manufacturing an ultrasonic surgical instrument includes providing an ultrasonic waveguide comprising a blade implement at a distal end thereof, providing an ultrasonic transducer assembly, and providing a hollow sheath sized to receive the ultrasonic blade. The method further includes identifying a motionless node on the ultrasonic waveguide when the ultrasonic transducer assembly is driven at maximum current at a resonant frequency of the ultrasonic transducer assembly, and installing a seal on the waveguide at the motionless node, wherein the seal has an annular groove therein. Installing the seal comprises positioning a first annular seal portion at the motionless node on the waveguide such that a first axial seal portion and a second axial seal portion extend axially in opposite axial directions beyond the first annular seal portion. When compressed, the seal maintains a contact with the waveguide that is less than a contact with the hollow sheath.
Pipe retainer
A joint structure for connecting lengths of pipe uses a plurality of teeth to engage the surface of at least one end of the adjacent lengths of pipe to connect the ends. A deformable member applies forces to the plurality of teeth to engage the surfaces. In an aspect, the plurality of teeth are releasable. In another aspect, the plurality of teeth are permanently engaged into the surfaces.
Conduit coupling apparatus and method
A coupling may be configured to receive and secure an insertion end of a conduit. An outer surface of the insertion end of the conduit may be smooth and free of grooves, flanges and beads. A first member of the coupling may define a first passageway. A second member of the coupling may define a second passageway. The first member may be in spin weld engagement with the second member. A gripping ring having an inner edge defining a series of teeth may be disposed within the second member. A support ring and O-ring may also be disposed within the second member.
Pipe coupling
A pipe coupling has an outer shell with a flexible inner liner therein. The liner is secured to the shell by a clamping arrangement, which uses inner rings at the ends of the shell and an inner ring intermediate of the ends. The inner rings are hydraulically expanded out to the shell to form a seal between the shell and the liner at the ends and to retain the liner to the shell at the intermediate ring. In use, compressed fluid is provided to cavities between the liner and the shell to force the liner to seal against a pipe joint. The intermediate inner ring prevents the intermediate portion of the liner from expanding into the pipe joint. A protective handle is provided.
Quick connect and quick disconnect system with positive feedback and method of manipulating a quick connect and quick disconnect system with positive feedback
A quick connect/disconnect system includes a first and second connecting member and a biasing member. The first connecting member includes (i) a first body defining a first fluid channel therethrough and having a first coupling portion at a first end portion, and (ii) a first ring assembly supported by the first body and extending about the first end portion and including a first mating feature on an internal surface of the ring assembly. The second connecting member includes (i) a second end portion defining a second coupling portion with a second fluid channel and configured to couple with the first coupling portion, and (ii) a second mating feature on an external surface of the second end portion configured to rotatably engage the first mating feature. The biasing member biases the first connecting member away from the second connecting member when the first and second mating features are mated.
Conduit fitting with pull-up indication
A fitting for a tube or pipe capable of functioning a high pressures having a first fitting component adapted to receive the conduit end; a conduit gripping device such as a ferrule or ferrules and a second fitting component that can be joined to the first fitting component to cause the conduit gripping device to grip the conduit and seal when assembled. In one aspect of the invention, the first fitting component is constructed from a material that is softer than the material used to construct the second fitting component. An additional aspect of the invention include a retaining portion on the second fitting component that constrains the tube gripping device against pressure. The retaining portion can also be configured to retain the tube gripping device to the second fitting component prior to installation and in a finger-tight condition. A further aspect of the invention includes a first fitting component in which an exterior portion of the component is work hardened radially outward from the tube gripping device. The fitting may optionally be provided with a structure to effect the pull-up by torque functionality.
