METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CONNECTION, AND CONNECTION DEVICE
A method for producing a connection, between attachment ends of two components that are to be connected, by means of two connection flanges, each of which is provided at one attachment end, wherein a sealable cavity is formed between those sides of the two connection flanges that are to face each other, wherein a closable and, if necessary, openable channel is provided between the cavity and a surrounding environment, and a negative pressure is generated in the cavity and the channel is closed, wherein a trigger mechanism is provided which is configured to open the channel in an automated manner upon the occurrence of a trigger criterion, and also to a corresponding connection device and to the use thereof.
Release of subsea clamp connector by waterjet cutting of drive screw
Methods and arrangements are provided for release of an ROV operable subsea clamp connector, the clamp connector comprising at least two clamp segments hinged to move pivotally, and a drive screw connecting the clamp segments by threaded engagement with trunnions arranged rotatable in the pivoting ends of the clamp segments, the threads of the drive screw and trunnions turned such that the trunnions travel along the drive screw in mutually opposite directions when the drive screw is turned. An axial bore in the drive screw is adapted for accommodation of a waterjet cutting tool having a sideways pointing nozzle in a forward end, the waterjet cutting tool rotatable inside the bore while feeding high-pressure water through the nozzle, towards the wall of the drive screw until the wall of the drive screw is cut through.
System for coupling two tubes
The system comprises a clamping collar having a clamping band suitable for being tightened around the abutting ends of the two tubes. The collar has a retaining tab that presents a fastener portion whereby said retaining tab is fastened to the band of the collar and that extends substantially axially towards an attachment portion of said retaining tab whereby said retaining tab is suitable for being attached to the first tube in the vicinity of its first end.
HOUSING ASSEMBLY FOR A TURBOCHARGER AND METHOD FOR FIXING MULTIPLE CONNECTIONS TO A HOUSING
A housing assembly comprising a housing that has at least one first connection opening and one second connection opening, a first connecting piece with a first flange and a second connecting piece with a second flange. The first connecting piece is connected to the first connection opening and the second connecting piece is connected to the second connection opening. The housing additionally has a projection with an overhang. The A locking part of the first flange is arranged in locking engagement with the overhang, and the first flange and the second flange are configured in such a way and arranged with respect to one another that a turning of the first flange is prevented by the second flange. A corresponding method of fixing multiple connections to a housing is also provided.
System and method for joining and hanging ducts
A system and method of assembling flanged duct sections, using large sheet metal screws through opposing inserted corner plates. The large screws are threadedly inserted fully through the corner plates of a first duct section and hold perpendicular thereto for guiding alignment with the mating duct section. The screws hold the duct sections apart to allow aligning them without fluid sealant or tape gasket material on one of the duct sections contacting the other. The screws are then threadedly engaged with the corner plates of the mating duct section, bringing the duct sections together with a leak resistant seal therebetween. Optional hanger brackets can be placed between the corner plates before assembly, and additional screws used to deform the flanges and corner plates about the brackets to compress the sealant or gasket thereabout.
Assembling Flanged Couplings
A pulling and alignment system for flanged components has pairs of flange attachments fixed to respective flanges of components that are to be pulled together and aligned for coupling. A puller device is supported by a flange attachment of each pair. A flexible elongate pulling link extends between the flange attachments of the pair and is engaged by, and movable relative to, the puller device to act in tension between those flange attachments. Each flange attachment is a flange extension that comprises an arm cantilevered from a mounting to extend beyond the flange and to hold the pulling link outboard of the flange. The pulling link is an articulated rod having a longitudinal series of rigid elements, each of those elements being pivotably coupled to at least one other of those elements.
Locking quick connect spray shield with visual indicator
According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an apparatus for a quick connect spray shield includes an inner sleeve having a first end, a second end, and a center axis that is parallel to an axis from the first end to the second end, wherein the inner sleeve has an inner surface that is contoured to position the inner sleeve relative to a female quick connect fitting; and an outer sleeve having a first end, a second end, and a center axis that is parallel to the center axis of the inner sleeve, wherein the outer sleeve has an inner surface contoured to position the outer sleeve relative to an actuating collar of the female quick connect fitting, wherein the actuating collar has an engaged position and a disengaged position.
FLANGE FITTING FOR TUBULAR STRUCTURES
Devices, systems, and methods are directed to automated techniques for fitting flanges to tubular sections used to form tubular structures, such as large-scale structures used in industrial applications (e.g., wind towers and pipelines). As compared to manual techniques for fitting flanges to tubular sections, the devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure facilitate faster attachment of flanges, which may be useful for achieving cost-effective throughput. By way of further comparison to manual techniques, the devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure may, further or instead, facilitate achieving tighter dimensional tolerances. In turn, such tighter dimensional tolerances may be useful for forming thinner-walled, lighter, and lower cost tubular structures. Still further or in the alternative, automated techniques for fitting flanges to tubular sections may facilitate attachment of multipiece flanges or other non-traditional flange geometries.
