QUICK CONNECTOR WITH SEMI-INTEGRATED CARTRIDGE
20200340608 · 2020-10-29 ·

A female coupling for a fluid quick connector and configured to be removably connected to a male coupling of the connector. The female coupling includes a valve assembly with a valve alternating between closed and open positions. The flow of a fluid from the female coupling towards the male coupling occurs in the open position. The female coupling includes a hollow body defining an inner cavity with a longitudinal axis for the flow of the fluid. The female valve assembly is housed in the inner cavity. The hollow body includes an end portion configured to be housed in a housing seat of an interface manifold. With the end portion in the housing seat, the tubular inner cavity is placed in fluid connection with at least one inner channel of the interface manifold. A constraint prevents rotation/translation of the end portion of the hollow body with respect to the housing seat.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR STERILE CONNECTIONS OR CONDUITS

Apparatus and methods for establishing sterile or disinfected/decontaminated connections or conduits between separate fluid path sub-assemblies. Each section of the fluid path to be connected include one or multiple heatable or heating surfaces, and a sterile volume or chamber defined by at least one of the heatable or heating surfaces. Prior to establishing a sterile access or connection between separate sections of a fluid path, the heatable or heating surfaces are sterilized or disinfected/decontaminated by means of heat. Such means may include ohmic resistive heating, inductive heating, and/or self-heating through an exothermic reaction. All surfaces establishing the connection or conduit are therefore sterile or disinfected/decontaminated, and a sterile connection or conduit is established.

A joint, a knob assembly, and an appliance having a joint and a knob assembly are provided. The joint may include a housing, a first shaft support, a second shaft support, and a coupling shaft. A slot having a predetermined width extending in a circumferential direction of the housing and a predetermined length extending in a longitudinal direction of the housing may be formed in the housing. The coupling shaft provided in the second support may include a rotary shaft rotatably inserted into the slot. A stopper may be formed to protrude from an outside of the rotary shaft, and a position of the stopper inside the slot may be changed according to rotation of the rotating shaft. The stopper may be provided in the slot so that the stopper interferes with an inner wall of the housing formed by the slot at a predetermined position.

MEDICAL CONNECTOR WITH LUER-INCOMPATIBLE CONNECTION PORTION
20240011588 · 2024-01-11 ·

Disclosed is a first medical connector configured to be removably attachable with a second medical connector to permit fluid flow between the first and second medical connectors. The first medical connector can include a first region with a luer-compatible connection portion being configured to engage luer-compatible medical devices, and a second region comprising a resilient seal and a first luer-incompatible connection portion. The first luer-incompatible connection portion can inhibit engagement with luer-compatible medical devices and permit engagement with a second luer-incompatible connection portion of the second medical connector. In some embodiments, the first region of the first medical connector does not rotate with respect to the second region of the first medical connector in an initial stage of use, but the first medical connector is configured to transition from the initial stage of use to a subsequent stage of use in which the first region of the first medical connector and the second region of the first medical connector can be rotated with respect to each other.

Connector System

A connector which couples to an outlet conduit to decrease an outlet conduit passageway pressure differential between outlet conduit opposing first and second ends, whereby the connector includes a mixing chamber having a first inlet port in fluidic communication with a connector first open end and the mixing chamber; an outlet port in fluidic communication with the mixing chamber and a connector second open end; and a second inlet port in fluidic communication with the connector second open end and the mixing chamber. Additionally, a connector including a connector internal surface defining a connector passageway which communicates between connector first and second open ends; and a sensor module operatively coupled to the connector passageway to sense a parameter of a first fluid flowing in a first fluid flow path through the connector passageway.

AXIALLY ENGAGING MEDICAL CONNECTOR SYSTEM THAT INHIBITS FLUID PENETRATION BETWEEN MATING SURFACES
20200284385 · 2020-09-10 ·

A connector system for medical fluid includes a male connector and a female connector that have a closed configuration when detached from one another. The first end of the male connector is configured to mate with a first end of the female connector. When the male connector is coupled with the female connector, complementary structures engage to move seals away from ports in the male connector and the female connector, opening a fluid pathway through the connectors. The mating ends of the connectors are not exposed to the medical fluid when the connectors are coupled so that when the connectors are disconnected, the mating ends are substantially free of residual medical fluid.
