Medical instrument
A medical instrument includes a first tube body and a second tube body joined to the first tube body by being inserted in the lumen of the first tube body. The second tube body is more rigid than the first tube body. The medical instrument includes a coating layer made of a biocompatible material disposed on the inner peripheral surfaces of the first and second tube bodies. The inner peripheral surface of the second tube body is radially inward of the inner peripheral surface of the first tube body to create a level difference portion. The thickness of the part of the coating layer which coats the level difference portion is larger than the thickness of the level difference portion.

PORT ASSEMBLY FOR PERMITTING MATERIAL TRANSFER BETWEEN CONTAINED SYSTEMS
An illustrative port assembly includes a male port assembly including a male frame sub-assembly having first and second hinged male frame members rotatable about a first axis, the first and second hinged male frame members being sealable therebetween. A first transfer sleeve is attachable to the male port assembly and is configured to operably connect the male port assembly with a first volume. A female port assembly includes a female frame sub-assembly having first and second hinged female frame members rotatable about a second axis that is coaxially alignable with the first axis. The first and second hinged female frame members are sealable therebetween, and the female frame sub-assembly is sealable with the male frame sub-assembly. A second transfer sleeve is attachable to the female port assembly and is configured to operably connect the female port assembly with a second volume.

Composite drill pipe and method for forming same
A composite torque pipe to metal fitting joint including concentric inner and outer shells formed with respective smooth annular surfaces projecting distally to form an annulus of a predetermined configuration for receipt of a composite connector ring of the predetermined configuration.
Geotextile
A geotextile tube connecting unit comprises a flange ring (20), a support ring (30), and connection means (22) for connection of the flange ring (20) to the support ring (30) while including the geotextile base fabric (10) in-between. The geotextile base fabric (10) is subdivided into at least two segments (14) in the area of the filling opening (11), each segment (14) being bent outwards over at least one welt element (12). The welt element (12) is interlockingly held in place on the flange ring (20) and/or on the support ring (30) on at least one contact edge.

WELDING METHOD
A method for welding a first hose end at a joint with a second hose end in a seam that extends on a circumference of the first hose end, the method comprising the steps: applying a protective layer at the joint to an inside of the first hose end; pushing the second hose end beyond the joint over the first hose end; pressing the first hose end and the second hose end together flat at the joint between two first damping jaws that are moved towards each other; welding the first hose end and the second hose end together by two first partial seams while pressed together, wherein the protective layer prevents a welding of the inside of the first hose end; releasing the first hose end and the second hose end from the two first clamping jaws after welding the two first partial seams.
Compactable pipe T for poly irrigation tubing
A compactable lay flat T joint and clamping system apparatus and method for compaction and deployment are disclosed.
Overcenter pipe clamp and method for lay flat tubing
A tubing clamp and method using an inner ring providing shape support to a layflat tubing to provide a compression surface against which an outer split ring with segmented pressure fingers can be compressed using an overcenter clamp to secure a back folded first end of a piece of tubing to a second overlaid tubing end.
