A vehicle exhaust evacuation system includes an adapter secured to an end of a vehicle tailpipe and a nozzle assembly secured to the end of a flexible hose for carrying vehicle exhaust outside of a building. The nozzle assembly has an aluminum cartridge removably secured in a rubber boot. Magnet assemblies are secured to the aluminum cartridge. Openings in the adapter allow ambient air to flow over the magnet assemblies to lengthen the life of the magnets.

FLUID CONNECTION AND SEAL

A remotely-operated fluid connection assembly to hold higher internal pressures in larger diameters. Disclosed embodiments gain advantage from the internal work pressure to provide improved seal performance. The assembly comprises a fluid connection adapter and a fluid connection housing assembly. When the adapter enters the housing assembly: (A) locking elements on the housing assembly constrict about the adapter; and (B) at least a first seal section on the adapter sealingly contacts a first seal bore on the housing assembly. Progressive engagement of a locking ring upon the locking elements urges the locking elements to tighten against the adapter. Internal pressure encourages adapter displacement, which then further tightens the adapter against the locking elements as now restrained by the locking ring. Internal pressure further encourages the first seal section on the adapter to expand radially to tighten the contact with the first seal bore in the housing assembly.

PORTABLE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER FOR THE RECHARGE OF WATER FOR EXTRA-VEHICULAR ACTIVITY

An extra-vehicular activity water system (EVAWS) is provided and includes a body defining an interior, a quick disconnect assembly fluidly communicative with the interior and with at least one of an external reservoir and a plumbing system of an extra-vehicular mobility unit (EMU), a piston and a pressure feedback feature. The piston includes a piston head configured to engage with the body to adjust a volume of the interior and a handle by which the piston head is movable to draw fluid through the quick disconnect assembly and into the interior from the external reservoir and to force fluid through the quick disconnect assembly and into the plumbing system from the interior. The pressure feedback feature maintains fluid forced into the plumbing system at pressures above and below minimum and maximum pressures, respectively.

An assembly includes a valve housing and a valve element such as a poppet valve. The valve housing includes a tubular duct and an annular valve seat disposed within the tubular duct. A first flowpath includes an inner bore of the annular valve seat. A second flowpath includes an aperture formed between the annular valve seat and the tubular duct. The poppet valve is configured to engage the annular valve seat and substantially close the first flowpath when the poppet valve is in a first position. The poppet valve is further configured to disengage the annular valve seat and at least partially open the first flowpath when the poppet valve is in a second position.

GAS FLOW DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH MAGNETIC COUPLING ASSEMBLY AND MAGNETIC COUPLING ASSEMBLY THEREFOR
20240082527 · 2024-03-14 ·

A gas flow delivery system for delivering a gas into headgear adapted to be worn by a user, is disclosed. The gas delivery system comprises a gas source, headgear having a user interface configured to receive at least the nose and/or mouth of a user within an internal region thereof, and a fluid circuit in communication with the gas source at one end and the internal region of the user interface of the headgear at another end. A magnetic coupling assembly is interposed in the fluid circuit. The magnetic coupling assembly includes a first magnetic coupling member and a second magnetic coupling member, where the first and second magnetic coupling members have opposing mating surfaces and define an axis along which the first and second magnetic coupling members magnetically engage one another. Each of the first and second magnetic coupling members comprise a main body portion and a retaining cap connected to the main body portion, the retaining cap and main body portion of each coupling member define an annular chamber in which a ring-shaped magnet is disposed. The retaining caps of each of the first and second magnetic coupling members also define the opposing mating surfaces of the first and second coupling members. At least a portion of the opposing mating surfaces may be transverse to the axis. The headgear comprises an interface input tube and the first magnetic coupling member is connected to the interface input tube. The second magnetic coupling member is connected to a gas delivery tube that defines at least part of the fluid circuit. The second magnetic coupling member may be separated from the first magnetic coupling member through the application of an axial pull force. The second magnetic coupling member may also be separated from the first magnetic coupling member through a torque created by the application of a force orthogonal to the axis to the second magnetic coupling member.
