BINDER COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a binder comprising one or more siloxane polymers, silicone resins, silicone based elastomers, and mixtures thereof, wherein said binder optionally comprises one or more cross-linker components comprising a silane and/or a siloxane containing silicon-bonded hydrolysable groups; and a hydrophilic powder and/or gel selected from one or more amorphous, porous hydrophilic silica(s), one or more hydrophilic silica aerogel(s) and mixtures thereof, said amorphous, porous hydrophilic silica and/or said hydrophilic silica aerogel having a BET surface area from 100 m.sup.2/g to 1500 m.sup.2/g or greater and a thermal conductivity from 0.004 to 0.05 W/mK at 20 C. and atmospheric pressure. The invention also relates to the use of said composition as or in thermally or acoustically insulating materials and to coatings, products and articles made therefrom.
Method and system for producing a pre-insulated pipe, and pre-insulated pipe
A method for producing a pre-insulated pipe, comprising inserting a length of jacket pipe (10) into a guide channel (110) having a front end (111) and a rear end (112); fixing said length of jacket pipe (10) in said guide channel (110); providing a first end (21) of a length of insulated inner piping (20), said length of insulated inner piping comprising a length of inner pipe surrounded by at least one layer of compressible insulation material (26); inserting, at said front end of said guide channel, into said length of jacket pipe, said first end of said length of insulated inner piping (20); applying an overpressure at least in an interior of said length of jacket pipe (10), around the inserted first end of the length of insulated inner piping (20); and moving said first end of said length of insulated inner piping (20) to said rear end of said guide channel (110); wherein said overpressure is such that said at least one layer of insulation material (26) is radially compressed; removing said overpressure to fix said length of insulated inner piping (20) in said length of jacket pipe (10) in order to form a pre-insulated pipe.
Hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate and applications thereof
Disclosed are a hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate and applications thereof. The hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate comprises a first panel, a second panel, and multiple hollow pipes between the first panel and the second panel; gaps are arranged among the hollow pipes, and the hollow pipes are connected to the first panel and the second panel by brazing. The present disclosure further includes the applications of the hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate. The hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate has advantages, such as light weight, high strength, low stress, high temperature resistance, pressure bearing, thermal insulation and vibration isolation. The metal plate will not deform due to thermal difference, thereby providing permanent service life of the metal plate.
INORGANIC FIBER
An inorganic fiber containing a fiberization product of a compound comprising at least one alkaline earth silicate, at least one compound containing an element from group VII and/or IX of the periodic table, and optionally alumina and/or boria. The inclusion of a suitable amount of at least one compound containing an element from group VII and/or IX of the periodic table of elements to an alkaline-earth silicate inorganic fiber reduces fiber shrinkage, decreases biopersistence in physiological solutions, and enhances mechanical strength beyond that of alkaline earth silicate fibers without the presence of the at least one compound containing an element from group VII and/or IX. Also provided are methods of preparing the inorganic fiber and of thermally insulating articles using thermal insulation prepared from the inorganic fibers.
Insulation products and methods and machines for making insulation products
The presently disclosed subject matter generally relates to recyclable insulation material for shipping containers, groceries bags, etc., machines for making the recyclable insulation material, and methods for the making the recyclable insulation material. In one aspect, a method of forming an insulation product may include forming a continuous sheet of paper into a plurality of flexible loops defining a plurality of air channels extending in a direction that is substantially perpendicular with a machine direction of the continuous sheet of paper. The method may also include immediately attaching a first layer of paper and a second layer of paper to the plurality of flexible loops as they are formed so that the continuous sheet of paper retains the plurality of flexible loops between the first layer and the second layer and that the plurality of flexible loops remain unattached with respect to one another.
BINDER COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a binder comprising one or more siloxane polymers, silicone resins, silicone based elastomers, and mixtures thereof, wherein said binder optionally comprises one or more cross-linker components comprising a silane and/or a siloxane containing silicon-bonded hydrolysable groups; and a hydrophilic powder and/or gel selected from one or more amorphous, porous hydrophilic silica (s) having a thermal conductivity at 20 C. and atmospheric pressure of 0.001 to 0.15 W/m.Math.K and a surface area (SBET) of between 200 and 1500 m.sup.2/g, one or more hydrophilic aerogel (s) and mixtures thereof, wherein the binder is a solution, an emulsion, or a dispersion in water. The invention also relates to the use of the composition as or in thermally or acoustically insulating materials and to coated substrates, products and articles made by using the composition.
Methods for dispensing and compacting insulation materials into a vacuum sealed structure
A method of forming an insulated structure for an appliance includes forming a structural enclosure having an outer wrapper and an inner liner and an insulating cavity defined therebetween, forming an insulating powder material, compacting the insulating powder material to form a pre-densified core material, disposing the pre-densified core material within an insulating cavity, wherein the insulating cavity is defined between the outer wrapper and the inner liner and expressing at least a portion of the gas contained within the insulating cavity, wherein the insulating cavity is hermetically sealed to define a vacuum insulated structure.
