Lubricant coating device and image forming apparatus
10746352 · 2020-08-18 · ·

A lubricant coating device preventing coating unevenness of lubricant powders is provided. The lubricant coating device includes a solid lubricant, a coating member and a film shaping member. The coating member in which first fibers composed of a material located on a positive polarity side and second fibers composed of a material located on a negative polarity side, on a triboelectric series with respect to the material of the solid lubricant are implanted, coats lubricant powders scraped off from the solid lubricant onto the image supporter. The film shaping member comes in contact with the image supporter and presses the lubricant powders onto the image supporter, to shape the lubricant powders into a form of a film. A scraping amount of the lubricant powders by the first fibers and a scraping amount of the lubricant powders by the second fibers are set to become substantially identical.

Aerostatic thrust bearing method and method of aerostatically supporting a thrust load in a scroll compressor

A scroll compressor includes a first scroll member, a second scroll member, and an aerostatic thrust bearing. The aerostatic thrust bearing forms a layer of gas between the second scroll member and a fixed supporting member to support the second scroll member as the second scroll member rotates and/or orbits. Also disclosed is a method of supporting a rotating/orbiting scroll member in a scroll compressor. The method including supplying pressurized gas to an aerostatic thrust bearing such that a layer of gas is formed between the rotating/orbiting scroll member and a fixed supporting member.

A computer-implemented method for modelling a driveline. The driveline comprising a plurality of components. The method comprising the steps of: a) receiving a parametric description of the driveline; b) creating a tribology model of the driveline from the parametric description; c) calculating one or more traction coefficients for one or more components of the driveline using the tribology model; and d) calculating a performance metric of the driveline, based on the parametric description and the one or more traction coefficients.

Connecting Sucker Rods with Couplings Having Dry Film Lubrication

A sucker rod assembly for use downhole includes sucker rods and couplings. The sucker rods having pin connections with a pin face and a threaded pin. The coupling make up adjoining rods using box connections each having a box face and internal thread. Dry film lubrication is applied only to the internal thread of the couplings and excluded from the box face of the box connections. During make up, the dry film lubrication can help prevent seizing and/or galling of the threads for the connection between the coupling and the rods. The box connection is circumferentially displaced relative to the pin connection to place a preload on the pin, and the box face has a friction abutment with the pin face.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDUCING FRICTION, TORQUE AND DRAG IN ARTIFICIAL LIFT SYSTEMS USED IN OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION WELLS
20200056112 · 2020-02-20 ·

A method of lubricating a fluid production pump may include mixing a polarized lubricant with water to produce a diluted lubricant. The method may additionally include creating a flowpath within the fluid production pump. An initial volume of the diluted lubricant may be circulated within the flowpath to allow the diluted lubricant to react with components of the fluid production pump and form a protective barrier on the components of the fluid production pump. The method may further comprise repeatedly introducing a periodic volume of diluted lubricant into the fluid production pump according to a predefined lubrication schedule.

A fifth wheel turntable lubrication device
20200031407 · 2020-01-30 ·

A turntable lubrication device for lubricating sliding mating surfaces of a base plate and an upper plate, the device comprising; a casing, and a lubricating grease contained and sealed within the casing, which lubrication device is intended to be manually positioned on the mating surface of the base plate and ruptured under pressure of the upper plate when the upper plate is positioned on top of the base plate, thereby allowing the grease to be distributed between the mating surfaces. The lubrication device is elongated and plastically formable, thus allowing the device to be shaped and curved so that it substantially follows a circumferential shape of the base plate such that the grease is evenly distributed over the sliding mating surfaces.
