A drive module for a vehicle including an electric machine, an inverter, a gearing assembly, and a cooling system. A first housing member thermally coupled with the inverter has a first set of heat exchange surfaces and a second housing member thermally coupled with the electric machine has a second set of heat exchange surfaces. The first and second sets of heat exchange surfaces each project into an interior volume cooled by an externally supplied liquid coolant which thereby defines a heat exchanger. A lower oil sump for collecting oil used to cool the electric machine may also include heat exchange surfaces projecting into the same heat exchanger. The gearbox may include an elevated oil sump which is supplied by the same oil pump circulating oil on the electric machine wherein the elevated oil sump gravity feeds oil onto selected surfaces within the gearbox.

Integral gutter and front center body

A fan drive gear system for a turbofan engine is disclosed and includes a gear assembly and a front center body. The front center body is an annular case that supports the gear assembly. The front center body includes a passage portion that defines a portion of a core flow path, a forward flange configured for attachment to a first case structure forward of the front center body, and gutter portion disposed on a radially inner side of the front center body for collecting lubricant exhausted from the geared assembly.

A fan drive gear system for a turbofan engine is disclosed and includes a gear assembly and a front center body. The front center body is an annular case that supports the gear assembly. The front center body includes a passage portion that defines a portion of a core flow path, a forward flange configured for attachment to a first case structure forward of the front center body, and gutter portion disposed on a radially inner side of the front center body for collecting lubricant exhausted from the geared assembly.

The lubrication system comprises a dry sump lubricant tank (51, 52, 53) and a pump (60) for pumping the lubricant from the tank (51, 52, 53) towards a lubricant release point, the lubricant release point being provided at a level above at least part of the rotating part (49) for receiving the lubricant from the tank (51, 52, 53) and allowing the lubricant to lubricate the rotating part (49). 10 The tank (51, 52, 53) is integrated in or directly attached to the powertrain component housing (20) at a level below the at least one rotating part (49).

Machine element

A machine element, in particular for a shaping machine, includes a lubricated bearing and/or a seal and a primary drainage conduit for catching a fluid medium issuing from the bearing and/or the seal, preferably substantially pressure-lessly. A collecting device is provided for collecting the fluid medium which is caught in the primary drainage conduit over a period of time, and a measuring device is adapted to directly and/or indirectly measure an amount of the fluid medium collected by the collecting device over the period of time.

Machine element

A residual oil drainage system for use in replacement of the oil filter of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The drainage system may include first and second drainage conduits disposed in the oil pan of the engine. The drainage conduits may be fluidly interconnected and coupled to portions of the oil inlet and outlet flow conduits which normally convey oil to and from the oil filter. A flow control device is movable to either open or close the drainage flowpath in the system. In use with an open flowpath and engine off, residual oil captured by the first and second drainage conduits flows through the drainage system and is returned to the oil reservoir in the oil pan via gravity. In one configuration, the drainage conduits are formed internally and directly within the body of the structure of the oil pan.

The positioning ring has plural second positioning portions. Each of the posts connects the positioning ring and the bottom of the barrel therebetween. Each post is detachably connected to one of the first positioning portions and one of the second positioning portions therebetween so that the two semi-ring bodies are unable to separate freely.
