The invention relates to the field of aeronautical propulsion, and more specifically to an emptying and monitoring device and method for emptying and monitoring a fluid drained from an aircraft engine. The emptying and monitoring device comprises at least one first intake passage for receiving, directly from the aircraft, fluid drained from the engine, and a first quality sensor assembly for detecting at least one quality parameter of the fluid drained from the engine, having been admitted through the first intake passage.
Fluid monitoring
Methods of evaluating mixing are disclosed relating to the preparation and mixing of materials. Materials prepared may transition from heterogeneous mixtures to homogenous mixtures while the current of a motor is monitored. Quantities relating to the rate of change of power or the rate of change of entropy may be calculated in evaluating the sufficiency of mixing. Methods of evaluating lubricant degradation are also disclosed.
LOCOMOTIVE SENSOR SYSTEM FOR MONITORING ENGINE AND LUBRICANT HEALTH
A locomotive sensor system includes a sensor configured to be in contact with lubricant within an engine of a locomotive. The sensor includes a sensing region circuit that is configured to generate stimuli at different times during an operational life of the engine. The system also includes one or more processors configured to receive signals from the sensor. The signals are representative of responses of the lubricant to the stimuli. The one or more processors are configured to analyze the responses and determine a characteristic of the lubricant that represents one or more of a total base number (TBN) or a total acid number (TAN) of the lubricant. The are configured to determine an unhealthy state of one or more of the engine or the lubricant based on the characteristic of the lubricant that is determined.
Ruggedized housing
A device for a drill rig comprising a ruggedized housing and a sensor contained in the ruggedized housing, the sensor adapted to measure at least one condition of a lubrication oil of an equipment on the drill rig. In an embodiment, the ruggedized housing can have a Class I, Division 1 & 2 standard rating according to UL1203 & FM3600(3615).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDUCING FRICTION, TORQUE AND DRAG IN ARTIFICIAL LIFT SYSTEMS USED IN OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION WELLS
A method of lubricating a fluid production pump may include mixing a polarized lubricant with water to produce a diluted lubricant. The method may additionally include creating a flowpath within the fluid production pump. An initial volume of the diluted lubricant may be circulated within the flowpath to allow the diluted lubricant to react with components of the fluid production pump and form a protective barrier on the components of the fluid production pump. The method may further comprise repeatedly introducing a periodic volume of diluted lubricant into the fluid production pump according to a predefined lubrication schedule.
DATA COLLECTION FROM AUXILIARY CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK DEVICES
Systems and methods are provided for enabling communication, without breaching the engine firewall, between a datalogger located on one side of the firewall and one or more sensor devices that are located on the opposite side of the firewall. The systems and methods described herein can allow a transmitting node (i.e., a transmitting datalogger) to transmit collected data (from an auxiliary sensor) to a receiving node (i.e., a receiving datalogger) while reducing or minimizing various difficulties associated with addition of an auxiliary sensor in the engine environment. The transmission of data from the transmitting node to the receiving node can correspond to wired data communication or wireless data communication.
Lubricant dispenser systems and methods
A fitting for a lubrication point of a device to be lubricated and a connector for removably connecting to such fitting to provide a lubricant from a lubrication device via the fitting to the device to be lubricated are disclosed. The fitting comprises an integrated circuit for providing an identification code to identify the fitting, and a first electrical contact for establishing an electrical path between the integrated circuit and a processor of the connector when a connection between the fitting and the connector is established. The connector comprises the processor and a second electrical contact for establishing the electrical path. The integrated circuit is adapted for transmitting data, including the identification code, via the first electrical contact to the processor.
FILTRATION MONITORING SYSTEMS
A filtration monitoring system is an electronic system control module installed on an internal combustion engine or within a vehicle powered by the internal combustion engine. The filtration monitoring system monitors the health and status of the filtration systems present on the engine. The filtration monitoring system tracks filter loading patterns and predicts remaining service life of the filters by running smart algorithms based on sensor feedback (e.g., pressure sensor feedback, fluid quality characteristic sensor feedback, etc.). In some arrangements, the described filtration monitoring systems provide feedback as to whether a genuine (i.e., authorized, OEM approved, etc.) or unauthorized filter cartridge is installed in a given filtration system. The filtration monitoring system may be retrofit into an existing internal combustion engine or vehicle that does not already have a filtration monitoring system.
