Methods to configure a safety control system
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a safety control system having a processor that (1) automatically interrogates a portable data storage device, (2) determines whether a configuration profile of the safety control system matches a stored configuration profile in the portable data storage device, (3) obtains network settings of the safety control system, and (4) stores network settings into the portable data storage device. In an illustrative example, a safety control system may include a processor designed to perform operations to configure the safety control system with a configuration profile stored in the portable data storage device or download network settings of the safety control system to the portable data storage device under some predetermined conditions. By using the above method, the safety control system may be quickly configured, and network settings may be easily obtained and backed up.

METHOD FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITY OF A DEVICE SYSTEM WITH A POWER TOOL AND A REMOTE CONTROL
A method for monitoring the functional capability of a device system, which includes a power tool (12) and a remote control (13), during operation, including the following steps is provided: a safety-relevant control signal (41) is sent from a control element (35) of the remote control (13) to a first checking unit (34) of the remote control (13), the control signal (41) is arranged in a data packet (42) together with a security code (SC) by the first checking unit (34) and transmitted from the first checking unit (34) to a second checking unit (28) of the power tool (12) by means of a communication connection (36, 37), the transmitted security code (43) is taken from the data packet (42) and, upon request by a monitoring unit (44), forwarded to the monitoring unit (44) by the second checking unit (28), the transmitted security code (43) is compared with a comparison code (VC) by the monitoring unit (44), and the power tool (12) is switched into a safe state by the monitoring unit (44) if the transmitted security code (43) deviates from the comparison code (VC).
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE ACCESS TO TISSUE PAPER CONVERTING LINES AND THE LIKE, AND RELATED METHOD
A web material converting line is disclosed, in particular for converting tissue paper, including a plurality of converting sections arranged in sequence along a feeding direction of a web material to be converted, each section including a converting machine; at least one converting section of the converting line includes a detection system for detecting the presence of people near the converting section. The detection system includes at least a first presence sensor and is adapted to detect the presence of people in at least a controlled area. The controlled area is subdivided into an accessible area 5 that can be accessed when the line is working, and an alarm area. The detection system is adapted to distinguish between the presence of an individual in the accessible area and the presence of an individual in the alarm area. The detection system is connected to a control unit adapted to intervene on the operation of the converting section based on information provided by the detection system.
TRIGGER SWITCH DEVICE OF POWER TOOL FOR PREVENTING ACCIDENTAL TRIGGERING
A trigger switch device of power tool for preventing accidental triggering is disclosed, comprising a trigger, provided at front end of the handle of power tool, and a safety switch, provided at a side of the handle; when neither the trigger nor the safety switch is operated, the safety switch locks the trigger so that the trigger cannot pressed; when the safety switch is pressed, the lock on the trigger is released and the trigger can be pressed. When the safety switch is released with the trigger pressed, the safety switch locks the trigger so that the trigger remains in the pressed state; when the trigger is in the pressed state and the safety switch is operated, the trigger is unlocked and automatically returns to the original non-pressed position and the safety switch locks the trigger again. As such, the trigger cannot be pressed to prevent accidental triggering.

Power tool with anti-kickback control system
A power tool includes a housing, a motor received in the housing, an output driven by the motor, and a control system. The control system includes a rotational motion sensor configured to generate a rotational motion signal that corresponds to a rotational motion of the housing about an axis, a current sensor configured to generate a motor current signal that corresponds to an amount of current drawn by the motor, and a control circuit that is configured to receive the rotational motion signal and the motor current signal and to control operation of the motor. The control circuit is configured: (a) to determine, based on the current signal, whether a detected kickback condition is likely to be false; (b) to determine, based upon the rotational motion signal, whether an uncontrolled kickback condition has occurred; and (c) to initiate one or more protective operations upon determining that an uncontrolled kickback condition has occurred and is not likely to be false.
FAILSAFE MODULE
A failsafe module comprising an input member (310), an output member (312), and a coupling mechanism for coupling the input member to the output member. The coupling mechanism comprises an intermediate member (316a) movable relative to the output member to energise an energy storage device and a latch mechanism (318, 320) to hold the energy storage device in an energised state. When the latch mechanism is engaged, the input and output members are coupled together and the energy storage device is held in an energised state and isolated from the coupling between the input and output members. When the latch mechanism is released, the energy storage device can release its energy to drive the output member to a predetermined position.
