The vessel includes a liner, a composite shell disposed over the liner, and a first longitudinal vent disposed between the liner and the composite shell. The first longitudinal vent includes an elongated vent defining element and extends at least from the cylindrical portion of the vessel to the first boss.
Boil-off gas re-liquefying device and method for ship
Disclosed is a re-liquefying device using a boil-off gas as a cooling fluid so as to re-liquefy the boil-off gas generated from a liquefied gas storage tank provided in a ship. A boil-off gas re-liquefying device for a ship comprises: a multi-stage compression unit for compressing boil-off gas generated from a liquefied gas storage tank; a heat exchanger in which the boil-off gas generated from the storage tank and the boil-off gas compressed exchange heat; a vaporizer for heat exchanging the boil-off gas cooled by the heat exchanger and a separate liquefied gas supplied to a fuel demand source of a ship, and thus cooling the boil-off gas; an intermediate cooler for cooling the boil-off gas that has been cooled by the heat exchanger; and an expansion means for branching a part of the boil-off gas, which is supplied to the intermediate cooler, and expanding the same.
COMPOSITE INNER FRAME MULTI-BONDED BARREL, SHELL-INTEGRATED PROJECTILE PROPELLANT TANK INCLUDING SAME, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THOSE
Provided is a composite inner frame multi-bonded barrel, a shell-integrated projectile propellant tank including the same, and a method for manufacturing the barrel and the tank. The shell-integrated projectile propellant tank may include the composite inner frame multi-bonded barrel including a cylinder portion including a plurality of inner frames bonded together; a dome portion including an upper dome frame and a lower dome frame bonded to an upper end and a lower end of the cylinder portion, respectively; a cylindrical shell coated on an outside of the composite inner frame multi-bonded barrel; and at least one manhole cover sealing a manhole cover coupling hole formed in a center of the upper dome frame or the lower door frame, and the at least one manhole cover has a fluid injection port formed on one side thereof.
Canister Caps for Cryopreservation Applications
A cap for closing a canister includes a receptacle including a bottom wall, and one or more walls extending upward from the bottom wall and defining an opening of the receptacle that is configured to receive a body of the canister, and a handle extending upward from the receptacle and defining vertical slots that are configured to receive respective hooks of the canister.
DEWAR DRYING DEVICE
Method, system, apparatus, and/or device for drying a dewar. The dewar drying apparatus includes a heating element. The heating element is configured to produce heat that warms a payload area within the dewar. The dewar drying apparatus includes a controller. The controller is coupled to the heating element and configured to determine or detect a temperature within the payload area of the dewar. The controller is configured to control, using the heating element, the temperature within the payload area of the dewar to evaporate a liquid or a gas within the payload area.
Storage tank device configured to prevent ice formation
A cryogenic storage device includes a storage tank having an inner tank, an intermediate tank and an outer tank spaced apart from each other so as to define a fluid reservoir for holding a cryogenic liquid and a thermal insulative space bounding the fluid reservoir. A top cover closes the open top. An inlet supplies the cryogenic liquid to the fluid reservoir. A fluid sensor is configured to detect a pressure within the cryogenic storage device and is removably disposed within the fluid reservoir so as to allow an ice formation to be thawed without having to thaw the entire cryogenic storage device.
Plastic liner for a composite pressure vessel
It is proposed a plastic liner for the storage of hydrogen, comprising: a first barrier layer (3), a second barrier layer (7) configured to be an inner layer in contact with hydrogen, at least one intermediate layer arranged between the first and the second barrier layers, wherein the second barrier layer (7) has a lower hydrogen permeability than said at least intermediate layer such that the second barrier layer (7) slows down the migration of hydrogen inside said at least one intermediate layer.
Vacuum manufacture of cryogenic pressure vessels for hydrogen storage
In one aspect the present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a cryogenic pressure vessel. The method may include providing a metal lined, composite wrapped vessel which has a boss. The method may further include securing an inlet to the boss, and then encapsulating the metal lined, composite wrapped vessel within a metallic layer in a vacuum controlled environment to form an encapsulated inner tank subassembly. The method may further include securing at least one support to an exterior of the encapsulated inner tank subassembly, and within the controlled vacuum environment, applying a metal coating over the encapsulated inner tank subassembly and the at least one support to form a metal coated, encapsulated inner tank subassembly. The method may further include, within the controlled vacuum environment, encapsulating the metal coated, encapsulated inner tank subassembly within a metallic vacuum jacket, which forms the cryogenic pressure vessel.
Method and Tool for Molding a Composite Pressure Vessel Liner to a Boss
A method for molding a composite pressure vessel liner to secure a boss to the liner is described. The method comprises providing a moldable liner having an end section with a neck and a port. A boss is positioned around the neck of the liner and the liner is heated and pressure is applied to mold the liner to form to the shape of the boss. The angle of the molded liner secures the boss in place around the liner and it is able to withstand high pressures. A tool for molding the liner and a method for using the tool is also described. The tool comprises a tool body and a pipe having external threads. The tool body abuts the liner and the boss. Winding the pipe exerts pressure on the liner, which when heated, forces the liner to mold to the shape of the boss.
