A base for a pressurized gas tank, such as hydrogen, is substantially circular about an axis, and comprises a substantially cylindrical pipe of axis, which passes through the base in order to connect an outside of the tank to an inside of the tank. A substantially tubular notch of axis is arranged on an inner side of the tank and is suitable for receiving a sealing envelope. A substantially tubular sleeve of axis is arranged on the inner side of the tank and has an inner diameter substantially equal to a diameter of the pipe and an outer diameter substantially equal to an inner diameter of the notch, and also has an axial extension at least equal to that of the notch. An O-ring and a groove of axis, capable of receiving the O-ring, are arranged in a side wall of the notch. The base also comprises a body and a substantially tubular ring of axis, interfaced by a surface of revolution about the axis passing through the groove.

EQUIPMENT SAFETY MANAGEMENT DEVICE, EQUIPMENT SAFETY MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND NATURAL GAS LIQUEFACTION DEVICE

An equipment safety management device for managing safety of equipment capable of holding fluid is provided. The equipment safety management device includes: a safety means configured to be in fluid communication with an outlet of the equipment, the safety means being brought into a released state when pressure of the equipment reaches a previously set pressure, the safety means delivering the fluid to a flare pipe, which is fluidly communicated; and, as the flare pipe, at least one first flare pipe allowing a low-temperature fluid to flow therethrough and at least one second flare pipe allowing an aqueous fluid to flow therethrough. The safety means can deliver the fluid to both the first flare pipe and the second flare pipe.

LNG NOZZLE SAFETY LOCKING MECHANISM
20170334705 · 2017-11-23 ·

The present invention relates to a coupling for a connecting a LNG nozzles to a LNG vehicle tank receptacle and their connection apparatus to a LNG vehicle tank for fueling.

The invention comprises a double connection system to provides additional safety to a LNG Nozzle Locking Mechanism for being locked into a LNG receptacle on a vehicle tank, by combining two different locking mechanisms: one the so-called “collet type” locking mechanism with the locking handles, and two the valved receptacle and valved nozzle approach with the rotating handle.

PRESSURE VESSEL LINER VENTING VIA NANOTEXTURED SURFACE
20170336031 · 2017-11-23 ·

A pressure vessel has a first end with a first boss, the first boss having a first outer surface. The vessel includes a liner having a second outer surface, a shell disposed over the second outer surface, and a first vent. The first vent is formed onto at least a portion of the first outer surface and at least a portion of the second outer surface. The first vent includes a texture that provides a higher rate of gas flow through the first vent than through a portion of an interface of the liner and shell lacking the texture. In another aspect, a pressure vessel has a first end and a second end, a plurality of first longitudinal vents and a plurality of second longitudinal vents. At least one of first longitudinal vents is circumferentially offset around the pressure vessel from at least one of the second longitudinal vents.

FUEL STORAGE SYSTEM
20170314511 · 2017-11-02 · ·

A fuel storage system is provided for storing dimethylether (DME), a blend including DME, or other similar highly volatile fuel at a vehicle. The fuel storage system including a main storage tank, an expansion tank, a fuel filling receptacle configured to receive a fuel filling nozzle of a filling station, and a valve arrangement having at least a normal operating setting and a fuel filling setting. The valve arrangement in the normal operating setting provides a fuel passage between the main storage tank and the expansion tank, and the valve arrangement in the fuel filling setting both provides a fuel passage between the fuel filling receptacle and the main storage tank and prevents fuel flow between the main storage tank and the expansion tank. The fuel storage system is configured to mechanically prevent disconnection of the fuel filling nozzle from the fuel filling receptacle unless the valve arrangement is in the normal operating setting. A corresponding method, as well as a further example embodiment of the fuel storage system, are also provided.

NITROGEN PUMPING FROM A TANK TRUCK
20170314736 · 2017-11-02 ·

A method of pumping a liquid with a tank truck, power is transferred from a diesel engine through a automatic transmission device to a triplex pump, wherein the triplex pump has a fluid provided to an inlet, an fluid outlet pressure and a fluid outlet flow rate, the diesel engine has a rotational speed, and the automatic transmission has an outlet rotational speed, and has multiple gear ratios is provided. The method comprising determining a delta P by comparing the fluid outlet pressure of the triplex pump to a predetermined pressure, determining a delta F by comparing the fluid outlet flow rate of the triplex pump to a predetermined flow rate, adjusting the rotational speed of the diesel engine to reduce the delta P and delta F, wherein the rotational speed of the diesel engine is held constant once either the delta P or the Delta F is approximately zero.

Membrane anchor mechanism

A membrane anchor mechanism which fixes a membrane provided on an inner wall surface side of a concrete wall via a heating insulating material to the concrete wall, includes a rod-shaped leg portion which is erected on the concrete wall, an anchor which is supported by the leg portion in a state of being separated from the concrete wall and is inserted into a through-hole passing through the heat insulating material and the membrane, and a pressing part which is fixed to the anchor through the through-hole and presses the membrane.

System for compressed gas energy storage

Embodiments provide systems and methods for taking power from an electric power grid and converting it into higher-pressure natural gas for temporary storage. After temporary storage, the higher-pressure natural gas may be expanded through an expansion engine to drive a generator that converts energy from the expanding natural gas into electrical power, which may then be returned to the electric power grid. In this way, the disclosed systems and methods may provide ways to temporarily store, and then return stored power from the electric power grid. Preferably, the components of the system are co-located at the same natural gas storage facility. This allows natural gas storage, electrical energy storage, and electrical energy generation to take place at the same facility.
