10422674 · 2019-09-24 · ·

A fluid flow meter system for monitoring fluid flow through a lumen includes a first ultrasonic transducer configured to transmit one or more versions of a transmit (TX) signal through a fluid flowing within the lumen, and a second ultrasonic transducer configured to receive one or more respective receive (RX) signals. The fluid flow meter system includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) configured to sample, at a first frequency, the one or more RX ultrasonic signals and a processor configured to generate a fine resolution signal based on the one or more RX ultrasonic signals. The fine resolution signal is associated with a second sampling rate higher than the first sampling rate. The processor is also configured to compute a cross-correlation signal indicative of cross-correlation between the fine resolution signal and a waveform and determine an estimated fluid flow parameter based on the computed cross-correlation signal.

Hot tap system and method for coated ductwork

Systems, apparatus and methods for hot tapping into pressurized, coated duct systems for transporting corrosive substances are disclosed. A branch line may be installed in such systems without shutting down or depressurizing the system using the disclosed systems, apparatus and methods without compromising the system coating or resistance to corrosion from the transported substances. Cut edges created when ductwork is cut to install a branch line are captured and sealed between two gaskets, avoiding the need for recoating with difficult to apply corrosive protection materials such as fluoropolymer coatings.

Kinetic hydrate inhibitors for controlling gas hydrate formation in wet gas systems

The present invention generally relates to methods and hydrate inhibitor compositions for inhibiting the formation of hydrates in a fluid comprising gas and water. More specifically, the method comprises contacting a hydrate inhibitor composition to a fluid. The hydrate inhibitor composition comprises a nonpolar solvent; a polar solvent; and a polymer, an oligomer, a dendrimer, or an acid or salt thereof.

Systems and methods for generation of hydrogen peroxide vapor

A method according one embodiment includes at least one of bubbling dried air through a hydrogen peroxide solution in a container for producing a first hydrogen peroxide vapor, and passing dried air from the moisture trap into a headspace above the hydrogen peroxide solution in a container for producing a second hydrogen peroxide vapor. Additional systems and methods are also presented.

ODORLESS WASTE DISPOSER UNIT

A device for grinding and reducing food waste to be disposed of in sewage systems. The device eliminates disagreeable odours by flooding the grinding chamber with water using a swivel plug that retains a gap of fresh water from the last use of the tap. The fresh water serves as a barrier to odors by creating a partition, isolating the dirty water in the grinding chamber. The matter to be grinded is segmented and torn up several times by a grinding apparatus made of cutting blades while it swirls in the water until it is reduced to particles small enough to pass through openings in a spherical grid. The device can be adapted to different uses: residential, commercial or industrial.

PARTICLE FOCUSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A particle focusing system includes an inlet; an inertial focusing microchannel disposed in a substrate and connected to the inlet; and a pressure/flow source configured to drive a particle-containing fluid through the inertial focusing microchannel, where the inertial focusing microchannel includes a side wall having an irregular surface. The side wall includes a first irregularity protruding from a baseline surface away from a longitudinal axis of the inertial focusing microchannel. Alternatively or additionally, the first irregularity and the baseline surface form an angle more than or equal to 135 degrees. The inertial focusing microchannel may have a substantially rectangular cross-section having a height and a width, and a ratio of height to width is approximately 5:4 to 4:1. The system may also include a downstream expanding region having a side wall, where the side wall has a stepped surface.
