10145554 · 2018-12-04 · ·

A lighting apparatus includes a front enclosure and a back enclosure including guide slots formed thereon. A mounting plate including a plurality of LEDs mounted thereon is attached to the back enclosure. A circuit board is attached to the mounting plate. A center extrusion is attached to the back enclosure. A plurality of spaced fin extrusions are attached to the mounting plate and positioned in the guide slots of the back enclosure. Side rails are attached to the mounting plate and back enclosure and spaced from the fin extrusions. The plurality of spaced fin extrusions and side rails allow passage of air in an upward direction between the spaced extrusions and side rails transferring heat generated from the lighting apparatus to the air.

A solar charged light apparatus for use on a hard surface, the apparatus includes a light body, having one or more lights contained within the body; a power source to power the one or more lights; and one or more solar panels secured to the body to charge the power source; an elongated stand having the light body secured to a top end of the stand, the stand having a base to support the stand on a hard surface; and one or more spikes to support the stand within a ground surface; the elongated stand can be oriented in a first position and a second position; the first position orients the one or more spikes to be used for support; and the second position orients the base to be used for support.

Dual bicycle headlight and taillight
10100989 · 2018-10-16 · ·

A dual bicycle headlight and taillight of a compact and lightweight configuration can be mounted on a bicycle handlebars as a headlight to project white light from a white light emitting diode and, alternatively, mounted on a rear of a bicycle as a taillight to project red light from a red light emitting diode. The projected light in both modes of a headlight or a taillight will be parallel to a support surface that the bicycle will traverse. A single flexible mounting strap is rotatably attached to a common light housing to provide a secure mounting of the headlight and taillight modes of operation by the same light housing.

Portable light control apparatus
10091854 · 2018-10-02 · ·

A portable lighting device such as a flashlight, headlight, or electric lantern comprises an onboard power supply (e.g., one or more batteries), a light source (e.g., one or more LEDs), and an onboard controller for regulating the light emitted by the portable lighting device. The onboard controller is in communication with one or more sensors configured to monitor component characteristics, such as a light source temperature and/or a power supply voltage. Based at least in part on the monitored characteristics, the controller is configured to generate a start-up ramp profile to gradually increase the brightness level emitted by the light source according to a defined brightness rate of change. After a power switch for the portable lighting device is activated, the controller initializes the start-up ramp profile to gradually increase the brightness emitted from the portable lighting device to a steady-state brightness level.

Provided is a decorative light with a tubular body having a bundle of optical fibers, one or more light sources, powered by a rechargeable battery and a solar panel which charges the rechargeable battery. Also provided is a decorative light with a tubular body having a plurality of light sources on a strip, an integrated circuit chip for controlling the timing of the light sources, powered by a rechargeable battery and a solar panel which charges the rechargeable battery. The decorative light can receive a transparent or translucent decorative element, such as an animal, mesh ball, snowflake, or a Christmas tree. The light sources are placed in electronic communication via a switching mechanism with the solar panel, the rechargeable battery, and an optional external source of electricity.

LED light bulb and lighting fixture

A lighting fixture is disclosed. The lighting fixture includes at least one lamp cup shell, a lampshade configured to be supported on the at least one lamp cup shell, and an LED light bulb configured to be coupled to the at least one lamp cup shell and extend up through an opening in a bottom of the lampshade. The LED light bulb includes a heat sink having a base and series of cooling fins arranged around the base. The cooling fins define external threads. The LED light bulb also includes an LED light board on the heat sink and a translucent cover covering the LED light board. The LED light board includes at least one LED light. The lighting fixture also includes a compression ring configured to threadedly engage the external threads of the heat sink to couple the LED light bulb to the lampshade.

A LED based lighting apparatus is disclosed. The light engine used in the lighting apparatus may use printed circuit board and have a plurality of LED groups that are independently controllable by a control unit. The power supply input and return paths connected to each LED group may be implemented on different layers to allow a compact footprint that may be used with traditional fluorescent encasements with relatively little modification. The LEDs may comprise a subset of LEDs having a first color and a subset of LEDs having a second color different from said first color intertwined on the light engine.
