Soil cultivation system equipped with solar panel
In the soil cultivation system equipped with a solar panel, the space between ridges of a plurality of frame units supporting the solar panels is coupled with a roof member, furthermore, the perimeter surface thereof is integrally covered with a cover unit. In this way, a cultivation house in which the frame units are used as support columns is established. Then, in the solar panels, light transmitting regions are provided, a transmissive member is used as the roof member and thus agricultural plants are cultivated by light passing through the light transmitting regions and the roof member. Furthermore, the cultivation of the agricultural plants is performed in cultivation tanks in which a soil is put, and an appropriate cultivation nutrient solution is supplied through a supply means. In this way, the cultivation environment of the agricultural plants is managed, and thus the agricultural plants can be efficiently cultivated while the burden of an operator is reduced.
SKYLIGHT COVER WITH ADVANTAGEOUS TOPOGRAPHY
A skylight cover is provided that includes a light transmitting body including first and second integral lenses. The first and second integral lenses define polygonal perimeters, each polygonal perimeter having a first element and a second element residing therein, the first and second elements disposed adjacent to each other in each instance. The skylight cover may include a plurality of ridges and creases, the individual, respective ridges and creases disposed in advantageous configurations. The cover may likewise include a plurality of surfaces, some optionally parallel and some optionally co-planar.
Volumetric light pipe and related methods
A light pipe for distributing light from a light source within a space, comprises a first portion adapted for receiving light from the light source and directing the light along an internal path in a first direction; a second portion adapted for receiving and distributing light received by the first portion from the light source in the first direction into the space; and a third portion intermediate the first and second portions, wherein the third portion is adapted for distributing light to the space in a second direction generally transverse to the first direction. The first portion may comprise a band, a lens, or both. Related aspects and methods are also disclosed.
LIGHT REDIRECTING FILM CONSTRUCTIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEM
The present disclosure relates to articles and methods of making light redirecting film constructions comprising a microstructured optical film bonded in selected areas to another film. This type of assembly may serve various purposes. For example, the assembly may protect the structured film, provide additional functionality, such as diffusion, and/or facilitate attachment of the microstructured optical film to a mounting surface, such as a window.
Sunlight redirector with fixed mirror segments
A sunlight redirector has a first mirror array formed of a first plurality of substantially parallel, uniformly spaced, longitudinal outward mirror segments; and a second mirror array formed of a second plurality of substantially parallel, uniformly spaced, longitudinal inward mirror segments. Each mirror segment has a normal vector. The outward mirror segments are adjustably positionable, such that their normal vectors remain parallel. The first mirror array is rotatable about a normal vector of the sunlight redirector. The inward mirror segments may remain fixed in position at all times; or they may be moved, twice per day, between first and second fixed positions.
Light redirecting film laminate
Light management film constructions contain a first optical film having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface. The first major surface is a microstructured surface with asymmetrical structures. The asymmetrical structures form an ordered arrangement of a plurality of multi-sided refractive prisms, with the multi-sided refractive prisms having a cross section of 3 or greater sides. A second optical film contacts and is bonded to substantially all of the structures of the first major structured surface of the first optical film. The light management constructions can be incorporated into optical articles such as windows.
Device for positioning a member for transmitting solar energy relative to an optical concentrator
A device for positioning the intake of a member, for transmitting solar energy relative to a convergent optical concentrator, including a mounting provided with at least one reserve suitable for receiving and supporting the optical concentrator in a predetermined direction and allowing light to pass through said mounting, a receiver suitable for receiving and supporting the intake of the transmitting member, and at least one spacer element in order to keep said receiver spaced apart from the mounting in a stationary position relative to said reserve, said stationary position being defined in accordance with the features of the transmitting member and optical concentrator.
DAYLIGHT REDIRECTING WINDOW FILM EMPLOYING EMBEDDED MICROSTRUCTURES
A daylight redirecting window film having a layered structure with a total thickness of less than one millimeter and having a first optically transmissive film, a second optically transmissive film approximately coextensive with the first optically transmissive film, an intermediate layer of a relatively soft optically transmissive material disposed between the first and second optically transmissive films, a parallel array of linear three-dimensional structures formed in a space between the first and second optically transmissive films, a layer of an optically transmissive adhesive coating a surface of the first optically transmissive film, and a two-dimensional pattern of light scattering surface microstructures formed in an outer surface of the second optically transmissive film. The parallel array of linear three-dimensional structures defines a parallel array of linear channels, and each of the linear three-dimensional structures has a total internal reflection wall extending transversely through a portion of the layered structure.
Light enhancing and flood protection window well installation
The present disclosure relates to a resilient and multipurpose window well installation. The installation comprises numerous different features and optional additional attachments and functionalities. In one embodiment, the installation can increase the amount of light entering into a basement window. In an alternative embodiment, the installation can also protect from influx of flood water through the basement window.
Daylighting system
A daylighting system includes a sheet-like light control member disposed on at least an upper part of a daylighting opening, and a shade disposed oppositely to at least a part of the opening, the part being below the part where the light control member is disposed. The light control member is configured to change upward a traveling direction of incident light and allow the incident light to pass through the light control member.
