The electrical wires connect with a light element such as an LED bulb. The lighting component also includes a lampshade that removably couples with the collar.

A string light assembly having a plurality of lighting components is described. Each lighting component comprises a first cover, a second cover, and a collar for coupling the first and second covers together. When coupled, the first and second covers form a housing that has an interior space. The interior space is sized and dimensioned to house a pair of electrical wires. The electrical wires connect with a light element such as an LED bulb. The lighting component also includes a lampshade that removably couples with the collar.

A leveling system for a lamp shade can include a bearing, a stud extension, and a weight. The bearing can be positionable around a stud of a lamp shade assembly and can be configured to be supported by a bracket of the lamp shade assembly. The bearing can define a bearing surface engageable with a hub of the lamp shade to provide an articulation surface for the hub. The weight can be releasably securable to a spoke of the lamp shade and can be positionable on the spoke to level the lamp shade about the bearing with respect to a plane.

Described herein is source sensitive optic that uses reconfigurable chip-on-board (CoB) light emitting diode (LED) arrays as light sources. In an implementation, the reconfigurable CoB LED array includes a predetermined number of LEDs that are configurable for a variety of illumination scenarios. In an implementation, the reconfigurable CoB LED array is multiple CoB LED arrays that are configured for use with the source sensitive optic as described herein. The source sensitive optic includes surface shapes that are responsive to the reconfigurable CoB LED array. The source sensitive optic is configured to provide beam profile and radiation pattern differentiation based on a CoB LED array configuration configured from the reconfigurable CoB LED. Each configurable CoB LED array configuration radiates a different beam pattern via the surface shapes due to proximity and surface shape geometries.

An LED security light includes a base plate, a surrounding lamp shade, an LED illuminator, and a detector assembly. The surrounding lamp shade is fixed on the base plate. The LED illuminator includes a plurality of light emitting diodes, and is fully covered by the surrounding lamp shade. The detector assembly includes at least one lens and a detection circuit, disposed in the center of the base plate of the LED security light. The detector assembly is installed in an accommodating space formed between a cover plate and the base plate of the LED security light. The cover plate is recessed and mounted on an inner border of the surrounding lamp shade such that the cover plate can be illuminated by an edge light emitted from the LED illuminator. The lens is disposed to protrude outwardly through a circular opening of the cover plate.

An LED security light includes a base plate, a surrounding lamp shade, an LED illuminator, and a detector assembly. The surrounding lamp shade is fixed on the base plate. The LED illuminator includes a plurality of light emitting diodes, and is fully covered by the surrounding lamp shade. The detector assembly includes at least one lens and a detection circuit, disposed in the center of the base plate of the LED security light. The detector assembly is installed in an accommodating space formed between a cover plate and the base plate of the LED security light. The cover plate is recessed and mounted on an inner border of the surrounding lamp shade such that the cover plate can be illuminated by an edge light emitted from the LED illuminator. The lens is disposed to protrude outwardly through a circular opening of the cover plate.

Each light component comprises a first cover, a second cover, and a collar for coupling the first and second covers together. When coupled, the first and second covers form a housing that has an interior space. The interior space is sized and dimensioned to house an electrical socket and a pair of electrical wires. The electrical socket electrically and removably couple with a light element such as an LED bulb. The light component also includes a lampshade that either removably couples with the collar or is integrally formed with the light element.
