The anti-glare cup has an inner wall with a light absorbing layer for absorbing a portion of the light.

A snow shield assembly for use with a traffic signal is described. The snow shield assembly typically comprises a shield collar, lens shield, extension ring, and mounting assembly. In some variations, a signal visor may be further included. The snow shield assembly can be retrofit for use with existing traffic signals. The design and configuration of the snow shield assembly creates a gap between the lens shield and the shield collar, providing a second egress for blowing snow in addition to the open bottom portion of the existing signal visor, helping to prevent the obstruction of the signal lens by falling snow. Further, the extension ring permits use on traffic signals having louver covers over the signal lenses.

A light guide for a luminaire is provided. The light guide includes: an elongated base comprising a light emitting surface at a distal end, and opposing major faces; and a plurality of collimators arranged in an adjacent manner and projecting in a proximal direction from the base, wherein each collimator has a light receiving surface at a proximal end, wherein each collimator expands laterally outwardly in a distal direction. Substantially all light received at the light receiving surfaces internally reflects through the collimators and the base and emits from the light emitting surface.

An emblem for a vehicle comprises: (a) a light source configured to emit visible light; (b) a cover assembly disposed over the light source, the cover assembly having an inner surface, an outer surface, and a transparent portion that is transparent to the visible light, the visible light being incident to the inner surface, and the visible light that the light source emits transmitting through the transparent portion out of the outer surface to an external environment beyond the emblem; and (c) one or more surface relief patterns disposed on the cover assembly, the one or more surface relief patterns configured to manipulate (i) the visible light that the light source emits, (ii) visible light from the external environment, or (iii) both (i) and (ii).
