A light source producing a beam of variable divergence, comprising one or more light-emitting devices arranged on a planar substrate, with each of the light-emitting devices having a Lambertian emission distribution. The light source may further comprise a chamber for mixing light emitted from the one or more light-emitting devices, the chamber itself comprising a base defined by the planar substrate, one or more side walls having a reflective interior surface, and a planar diffusive emission surface defining a ceiling of the chamber. The chamber may have an adjustable height. A reflector extends from the chamber for redirecting light exiting from the chamber to form a light beam, the reflector surrounding and having a focal plane coincident with the ceiling of the chamber. Finally, the light source may comprise a mechanism to control a height of the chamber to thereby variably control a divergence of the light beam.

A light emitting diode lamp is composed of a light emitting diode, a band-pass filter and a light angle adjuster. The filter has a light cutoff function to cut off a light ray with a specific wavelength. The light angle adjuster allows the light rays emitted from the diode to be incident on the filter at incident angles of less than or equal to a maximum incident angle up to which the filter is capable of exerting the light cutoff function. The light angle adjuster is a reflector. The diode is mounted to a bottom portion. The filter is mounted to an opening. On an imaginary cross section including the optical axis, an angle formed between the optical axis and a straight line is less than or equal to the maximum incident angle, the straight line connects the emission center and an edge of the opening.

The invention relates to a lighting device for issuing a light beam in a main direction along an optical axis. The lighting device comprises a light source and a positive, refractive lens provided on the optical axis, the lens being movable with respect to the light source over the optical axis. The lighting device further comprises a mixing structure provided on the optical axis and having an added blurring strength FWHM, with FWHM being in a range of 3 to 15.
