A hybrid LED lighting device, in particular a recessed spotlight, with lighting and sanitizing functions, comprises: a support structure extending along a longitudinal axis; a central LED source, positioned along the axis and emitting white light; and a plurality of UV-C LED sources, emitting in the UV-C band and arranged spaced apart from one another about the axis and about the central LED source to form an LED ring.

Variable planform shelving systems include a variable support platform and a support surface assembly that is supported by the variable support platform. The variable support platform includes frames that can be repositioned relative to each other to vary the planform of the variable support platform. The support surface assembly provides a support surface for supported items. A backlit temperature control knob for water heater valves used with water heaters and more particularly to gas water heaters provides a way to read the temperature indication not previously known in the art. Some embodiments rely on a thermocouple or thermopile normally used to power a safety magnet with the pilot light system as a source of electrical energy to selectively illuminate a Light Emitting Diode (LED) which directs light through at least a portion of the knob to assist in reading the temperature indications.

An illuminated aircraft passenger cabin gasper comprises an air outlet for outputting a flow of air into an aircraft passenger cabin and an air guide, movably arranged within the air outlet for adjusting the flow of air that includes a light guide. The gasper also includes at least one light source, arranged adjacent to the light guide for coupling light into the light guide. The light guide has a light output surface for coupling light out of the light guide into the aircraft passenger cabin.

One or more embodiments relates to a portable, personal device for providing cooking and power and adapted for use with a burner, the device including a plurality of metal-supported solid oxide fuel cells (MS-SOFCs) coupled together; a microelectronic control circuit connected to at least the MS-SOFCs; a light source coupled to at least the microelectronic control circuit; and at least one USB port coupled to at least the microelectronic control circuit; whereby the device is able to simultaneously provide light and power a personal device.

The present invention offers a halo-illuminating light pattern for clearly showing areas of a pet's fur to the user performing brushing. Such a halo-illuminating light pattern provides a full, 360-degree light pattern of the pet's fur. This eliminates the necessity for using an additional light source, for example a flashlight or being made to settle on a light source that only highlights one side of a pet's fur, leaving another side in shadow.
