Illuminating vehicle assemblies with illuminated badges
An illuminating vehicle assembly includes a plastic grille component and a badge mounted to the plastic grille component. The badge houses at least one light source. The light source may be illuminated to create various lighting effects. Any heat generated by the at least one light source can be dissipated into the plastic grille component.
VEHICLE LAMP LIGHT BLOCKING
A vehicle lamp includes one or more LEDs mounted to a printed circuit board for producing light. One or more inner lenses are coupled to LEDs for receiving light such that light enters along an edge or surface of each inner lens and propagates through each inner lens before exiting. A projection lens is oriented adjacent the inner lenses such that the projection lens receives light from the inner lenses and projects the light from the vehicle lamp. A light blocking material is applied to at least a portion of the projection lens for altering an appearance of light emitted from the projection lens. The resulting projections provide custom lit appearances having varying patterns, intensity, texture, and/or color. The vehicle lamp may be used for satisfying vehicle lamp legal functions, welcome functions, autonomous driving functions, and/or logo functions.
Electric lamp having a cover with a light guide
An electric powered lamp is disclosed. The lamp has a base, a light emitting element, and a cover over the light source. A light guide carries light from the light source to a reflective surface in the cover. Light rays run transversely through the cover.
Application of electrochromic polymers as color and opacity light filters
A vehicle lighting system includes a light source; a first lighting subsystem includes a first light path having a first end positioned to receive light from the light source and to deliver the light to a second end of the first light path; and a first electrochromic filter disposed in the first light path; and a second lighting subsystem includes a second light path having a first end positioned to receive light from the light source and to deliver the light to a second end of the second light path; and a second electrochromic filter disposed in the second light path, wherein the first lighting subsystem provides a first lighting function, and wherein the second lighting subsystem provides a second lighting function.
Vehicle decoration system and method of use
A vehicle decoration system includes a decorative wreath, the decorative wreath attached to a connector, the connector configured to secure to a vehicle; one or more lights secured to the decorative wreath; a control system associated with the decorative wreath and configured to operate the one or more lights; an electrical connector connecting the control system to a vehicle plug and the control system in communication with a vehicle control system via the vehicle plug; the one or more lights are activate via commands associated with the vehicle.
LIGHTING DEVICE AND LAMP COMPRISING SAME
The lighting device disclosed in the embodiment includes a substrate, a light source portion disposed on the substrate, a resin layer disposed on the substrate and covering the light source portion, a light blocking layer disposed on the resin layer and having an opening portion, and an optical layer disposed on the light blocking layer, wherein the light source portion includes a plurality of first light sources disposed in a first region of the resin layer and a plurality of second light sources disposed in a second area of the resin layer, wherein the resin layer includes a groove disposed between the first and second regions.

Lighting device for a motor vehicle
A lighting device for a motor vehicle including a housing covered by a lens in a light main radiation direction, and at least one supporting plate for multiple illuminants. Partially different light functions are assigned to the illuminants. A recess, which is formed by the housing and which forms at least part of the function of a reflector, is assigned to one of the light functions. The recess has a volume which is multiple times smaller compared to the housing volume, and only such a part of the supporting plate, including at least one illuminant, projects into the recess which is multiple times smaller than a remaining part of the supporting plate, which supports the illuminants for the other light functions. Thus, it is possible to implement the additional light function of a side marker light using the compact lighting device, which has few components and is thus cost-effective.
