A strip of a flexible plastic has a transparent cover surface which permits passage of light and an opposed bottom surface and sides which are opaque to passage of light. A series of spaced apart light emitting diodes are positioned on the top surface in electrical contact with a pair of spaced apart, generally parallel electrical wires running along the length of the top surface and individual electric bulbs are positioned on top of each light emitting diode. When electric current flows through the electrical wires, light is transmitted from each light emitting diode through each bulb and out in a unidirectional manner.

A downstream end of each leg forms a knife portion. First and second gas filters each comprise an orthogonal gas-filter frame defining an interior perimeter and an exterior perimeter. A trough with sealant affixed therein is sealingly attached to and surrounds a portion of the exterior perimeter. A trough opening faces the downstream space, with the knife portions penetrating surfaces of the sealant, forming a seal between the light-fixture base and each gas filter.

In one embodiment, a design system based on luminaires having multiple illumination panels includes first and second luminaires. Each of the first luminaires includes three illumination panels arranged in a row. Each of the second luminaires includes five illumination panels of the same size and shape, arranged in an L-shape, with a first, a second and a third panel arranged in a first row, and the third, a fourth and a fifth panel arranged in a second row at a ninety degree angle to the first row. In another embodiment, a design system based on luminaires having multiple illumination panels includes first and second luminaires. Each of the first luminaires includes three illumination panels arranged in a row. Each of the second luminaires includes nine illumination panels of the same size and shape, arranged in a grid of three rows and three columns.

The received light travels through the light pipe and is emitted from a light emitting surface of the light pipe. The reflecting holder reflects some of the light emitted from the light emitting surface and directs the light toward the lens and the light exits the worklight body.
