Orientation specific luminaire

An orientation specific luminaire is coupled to lensed optics configured to illuminate vertical and horizontal surfaces within elongated spaces at predetermined light intensity levels, where needed, and with predetermined uniformity ratios within a surface and between surfaces. The orientation specific luminaire includes an orientation mounting hub, the orientation of which is user settable such that the lensed optics emit light from the luminaire's light sources to illuminate vertical and horizontal surfaces within elongated spaces at predetermined light intensity levels.

A luminaire and lighting system for multi-directional lighting for use in photographic, theatrical, and cinematic settings are provided. The luminaire has mounting plates at opposing ends of an elongate body. The luminaire may be mounted onto a stand or other mounting structure at either end of the luminaire to provide different mounting configurations to produce different lighting effects. The luminaire may be used with a lighting modifier to alter the lighting effects.

Light fixture coupler

A modular lighting assembly includes two modular segments, each having a frame member. A coupler for forming an assembly, and an assembly formed by the coupler. In one example implementation, two members having abutment faces are drawn together using a coupler. Each of the members has a T having a T-shaped cross section, and the coupler has channel with a T-shaped cross section. The channel receives the ends of the rails. Each rail has an opening in its top face. Two screws are threaded into a back of the coupler and angled toward a center of the coupler, such that the ends of the screws engage sidewalls of the openings in the rails. As the screws are advanced into the coupler body, the ends of the screws are drawn together, drawing together the abutment faces of the two members. In other implementations, other rail and channel shapes may be used.

A pre-calibrated light box includes a light panel, a material attached to the light panel and at least one LED strip positioned inside the light box and including a plurality of interweaved LEDs selected from three different bins on a chromaticity diagram. The three different bins are selected based on plotting a representative vertex inside each of the first, the second and the third bins and drawing a triangle between the vertices so that a target color of white light emitted out of the light box is located inside the drawn triangle. At least three channels are electrically coupled to each of the bins of LEDs and each channel powers the corresponding bin of LEDs with a proportion of power determined by a geometric location of the target color of white light with respect to a location of each of the bins on the chromaticity diagram.
