Vented propane combustion chamber for insect attractant engine
A vented combustion chamber for an insect attractant engine is provided for a flying insect trapping device of the type that relies upon combustion of a fuel to generate a flow of carbon dioxide to attract flying insects. The combustion chamber, which is generally tubular and horizontally oriented in operation, is vented through a hole formed in one side of the chamber wall that extends from the outer surface of the chamber into the interior thereof. During operation of the device, this through-hole allows gas inside the chamber to be vented to the outside, changing the effective length of the combustion chamber for the purposes of wave generation is changed so that creation of a resonance cycle or standing wave, and the resulting acoustic phenomenon of howling, is prevented.
Oil diffusion pump and vacuum film formation device
Provided is an oil diffusion pump equipped with an oil vapor generator capable of eliminating the problems occurring when a heater wire is used as a heating source for an operating oil. The present invention is a vacuum pump for which an oil vapor generator (70) is arranged within a casing (51) and this oil vapor generator is operated to vaporize an operating oil (8), thereby producing oil vapor and this oil vapor is sprayed from a jet (53, 53a) to exhaust intake air. The oil vapor generator (70) is equipped with: a container (71, 72) in the interior of which oil is stored, with the lower end of the tubular member (71), which comprises a material to be heated, being closed; and induction coil (75) wrapped around the atmosphere-side perimeter of the tubular member (71) (in particular, the case inner wall (71b)) with an insulating material (73) therebetween; and a power supply means that applies a low-frequency alternating current of several tens of Hz to several hundreds of Hz to the induction coil (75). The configuration is such that the tubular member (71) itself is heated when the power supply means is operated and the low-frequency alternating current is applied to the induction coil (75), thereby vaporizing the oil within the container.
Rich-lean burner
A rich-lean burner has on an upper end portion thereof: a lean flame port longitudinally extended to eject a lean fuel-air mixture which is leaner in fuel concentration than a theoretical fuel-air ratio; a blind clearance located on each lateral side of the lean flame port, the blind clearance being free from ejection of a fuel-air mixture; and a rich flame port located on lateral outside of each of the blind clearances to eject a rich fuel-air mixture which is richer in fuel concentration than the theoretical fuel-air ratio. The rich-lean burner further has a lean-flame deforming device to deform a lean flame formed by combustion of the lean fuel-air mixture ejected from the lean flame port such that the shape of one lateral side of the lean flame becomes asymmetrical with the shape of laterally opposite side of the lean flame.
Semi-submersible gas burner
A semi-submersible gas burner assembly for a fire-on-water feature, the assembly including a tubular void former having nominal waterline disposed between proximal and distal ends and a separable lid engaging the distal end. The lid includes inner and outer peripheral skirts projecting toward and past the waterline, respectively. At least one gas manifold arm extends through and outward from the tubular void former, and includes a gas port disposed proximate the sidewall. The sidewall at the distal end includes a communicating aperture which fluidly interconnects the interior of the tubular void former with a flame retention chamber defined by the sidewall, the lid, the inner peripheral skirt of the lid, and the nominal waterline.
Inertial electrode and system configured for electrodynamic interaction with a flame
An inertial electrode launcher may be configured to project charged particles or a voltage comprising an inertial electrode proximate a flame or combustion gas produced by the flame.
PREFABRICATED INTEGRATED COMBUSTION ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF INSTALLING THE SAME INTO A COMBUSTION SYSTEM
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to devices and methods for improving operation of a combustion system. According to various embodiments disclosed herein, a prefabricated integrated combustion assembly is disclosed that may be installed into a combustion chamber of a combustion system. The combustion system may be a new combustion system that is being manufactured or a conventional combustion system that is being retrofitted.
Signal responsive well test burner
A well test burner system includes a plurality of burner nozzles. At least one of the burner nozzles includes a well product inlet, an air inlet, an air/well product mixture outlet, and an automatic valve. The automatic valve is responsive to a remote signal to cease flow of well product to the air/well product outlet.
Scalable Multiple-Inverse Diffusion Flame Burner for Synthesis and Processing of Carbon-Based and Other Nanostructured Materials and Films and Fuels
Apparatus and methods of use thereof for the production of carbon-based and other nanostructures, as well as fuels and reformed products, are provided.
HEATING FURNACE USING GAS PULSE MODULATION TEMPERATURE CONTROL MODE
A heating control system that includes a heating unit with a constant burner and a pulsed burner. The constant burner is configured to remain active during operation. The pulsed burner is configured to toggle between an active mode and an inactive mode. The heating control system further includes a memory operable to store a temperature map that maps temperatures to percentages of a period that the pulsed burner is active and a microprocessor operably coupled to the heating unit and the memory. The microprocessor is configured to transmit a first electrical signal to activate the constant burner, obtain a temperature set point, determine the percentage of the period that the pulsed burner is active using the temperature set point and the temperature map, and transmit a second electrical signal to toggle the pulsed burner based on the determination of the percentage of the period that the pulsed burner is active.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING OFF-GASES FROM NATURAL GAS DEHYDRATOR
An apparatus and method for reclaiming uncondensed hydrocarbons normally exhausted to the atmosphere from a still column of a glycol dehydrator system, and combusting the uncondensed hydrocarbons in a burner assembly of a reboiler after the burner assembly has been ignited by fuel gas.
