Detecting Blockage Of A Duct

The present disclosure deals with the detection of a blockage in the air-supply duct or flue of a burner assembly. In some embodiments, a method or system may detect blockages in the form of coverings and with burner assemblies to burn fossil fuels. For example, a control device may generate: a first air-control signal; a fuel-control signal by adjusting the actual values of the ionization current to the ionization-current setpoint; a setpoint increased by a specified amount from the ionization-current setpoint; and a changed fuel-control signal by adjusting the actual values of the ionization current to the increased setpoint in the case of a first air-control signal. The control device may evaluate the changed fuel-control signal generated based on the increased setpoint by comparing it with a specified maximum value and based on the evaluation, to detect a blockage. The control device may recognize the blockage based on the evaluation if the fuel-control signal generated using the increased setpoint exceeds the specified maximum value.

A gas burner controller adapter for use in adapting a gas burner control device, which is configured to be connected to a flame ionization electrode and a separate ignition electrode, to operate in a gas burner that only includes a single electrode serving as both the flame ionization electrode and the ignition electrode.

BURNER, COMBUSTION DEVICE, BOILER, AND BURNER CONTROL METHOD

A burner includes: an inner gas nozzle which extends along an axis while surrounding the axis, and which is capable of supplying a furnace with an inner combustion oxygen containing gas; a fuel supply nozzle surrounding the inner gas nozzle as seen in a direction along the axis, the fuel supply nozzle being capable of supplying the furnace with a fluid mixture of a solid powder fuel and a carrier gas; an outer gas nozzle surrounding the fuel supply nozzle as seen in the direction along the axis, the outer gas nozzle being capable of supplying the furnace with an outer combustion oxygen containing gas; and a flow-velocity-ratio adjustment apparatus capable of adjusting a relative flow velocity ratio of a discharge flow velocity of the inner combustion oxygen containing gas to a discharge flow velocity of the outer combustion oxygen containing gas.

BURNER NOZZLE

In an embodiment, the present invention provides a burner nozzle for a flame ionization detector, the nozzle including: an output-side outlet for ejecting a gas mixture to be ignited into a combustion chamber; an input-side inlet for feeding a combustible gas and a gaseous analyte through a transport channel to the outlet; and a cut-out, provided in the burner nozzle, through which cut-out combustion air can pass from the combustion chamber into the gas mixture flowing out of the outlet.

COMBUSTION BURNER AND BOILER

In this combustion burner and boiler, interference of ignition in a flame stabilizer is suppressed and flame stabilizing performance is improved by providing: a fuel nozzle which ejects a fuel gas that is a mixture of pulverized coal and air; a combustion air nozzle which ejects a fuel gas combustion air from outside of the fuel nozzle; a secondary air nozzle which ejects secondary air from the outside of the combustion air nozzle; and a flame stabilizer which comprises a first flame stabilizer main body which is arranged at the leading end of the fuel nozzle and separated by a prescribed space from the inner wall surface of the fuel nozzle and which forms a ring shape having as the center an axial line along the ejection direction of the fuel gas.

Modulating Burner With Venturi Damper

A modulating burner apparatus includes a burner and a blower placed upstream of the burner. A venturi is placed upstream of the blower. A damper valve is placed upstream of the venturi. The damper valve has an open position and a restricted position. A smaller gas valve and a larger gas valve are communicated with the venturi. A controller is operably associated with the system to select a position of the damper valve and to select the appropriate one of the gas valves so as to provide a low output operation mode and a high output operation mode, which in combination provide an overall turndown ratio of at least 25:1.

FLAME IONIZATION DETECTOR HAVING SPECIAL BURNER NOZZLE, AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, POWER STATION AND BURNER NOZZLE

A flame ionization detector has a combustion chamber with an electrode arrangement for measuring an electric current from a gas flame to an electrode of the electrode arrangement, a burner nozzle having at least one output-side outlet for ejecting a gas mixture to be ignited between the electrode arrangement and having at least one input-side inlet for feeding a hydrogen-containing combustible gas and a carbon-containing gaseous analyte through a transport channel to the outlet, and a feeder for feeding oxygen-containing combustion air into the combustion chamber, wherein at least one cut-out is provided in the burner nozzle, through which cut-out combustion air can pass from the combustion chamber into the gas mixture flowing out of the outlet.

Fuel combustion system

A fuel combustion system comprises a discharge nozzle with concentric fuel and air orifices. A fuel conduit is coupled to each fuel orifice for supplying liquid fuel thereto. An air conduit is coupled to each air orifice for supplying air thereto. The fuel and the pressurized air only mixing with one another, upon being discharged from the respective fuel and air orifices, to form a fuel mixture. A supplemental air source supplies supplement air to facilitate combustion. An air deflector sleeve at least partially surrounds and accommodates the at least one discharge nozzle and a cylindrical blast tube surrounding the air deflector sleeve and an outlet end of the cylindrical blast tube supports a flame retention head. The flame retention head redirects the supplement air radially inward, through openings in the air deflector sleeve and the flame retention head, to assist with combustion of the fuel mixture.

ADJUSTABLE BURNER CONTROL VALVE

A burner control valve with speed control includes a speed control assembly for metering loading pressure into a loading pressure chamber to prevent pilot light blow out and/or backfire in a downstream burner.
