Submerged combustion burners
10131563 · 2018-11-20 · ·

Submerged combustion burners having a burner body and a burner tip connected thereto. The burner body has an external conduit and first and second internal conduits substantially concentric therewith, forming first and second annuli for passing a cooling fluid therethrough. A burner tip body is connected to the burner body at ends of the external and second internal conduits. The burner tip includes a generally central flow passage for a combustible mixture, the flow passage defined by an inner wall of the burner tip. The burner tip further has an outer wall and a crown connecting the inner and outer walls. The inner and outer walls, and the crown are comprised of same or different materials having greater corrosion and/or fatigue resistance than at least the external burner conduit.

Swirl impingement prefilming

A nozzle for injecting liquid includes a nozzle body defining a plurality of injection point orifices and an annular prefilmer positioned downstream of the injection point orifices for prefilming impingement of spray from the injection point orifices on the prefilmer. A swirl antechamber can be defined upstream of the injection point orifices for supplying a swirling liquid flow to the injection point orifices for impingement of a swirling flow on the prefilmer.

Orifice Holder Construction

An orifice holder assembly provides a boss connected by at least one arm to a base having an outlet therethrough. The boss is provided below the outlet. A tube is inserted through the boss until a bead contacts a first boss surface and the tube end is then deflected to form a lip where the lip and the bead connects the tube to the boss. An orifice body is then inserted in the tube end.

Heater with replaceable cartridge

A catalytic tank heater includes a removably attached catalytic heater cartridge having catalytic material. The heater is attached to an LPG tank to position the catalytic heater cartridge to face the tank. The catalytic heater cartridge covers a plenum chamber of the catalytic tank heater. A fuel distribution header and heating element are positioned within the plenum chamber and are controlled to initiate combustion of the catalytic material to heat the tank. Vapor from the tank is provided as fuel to the catalytic tank heater, and is regulated to increase heat output as tank pressure drops. The catalytic heater cartridge can be replaced with a new cartridge while at the location of the tank on a property.

Low NOx gas burners with carryover ignition

A gas burner for low NO.sub.x gas furnaces is disclosed with improved flame carryover for igniting one or more adjacent burners. The burner includes a burner tube that receives a mixture of fuel and air. The burner tube is coupled to an outlet. The outlet includes a primary outlet opening which is in communication with at least one transverse slot for communicating a flame to at least one adjacent burner. The primary outlet opening may be elliptical and the outlet further may also include a concave outer face through which the primary outlet opening extends. The at least one slot may include a pair of oppositely directed transverse slots extending outward from the primary outlet opening along a semi-minor axis of the primary outlet opening.

Burner assembly for a heating furnace

A burner assembly for a fuel-fired heating furnace. The assembly comprises a burner body having an inlet opening to receive fuel delivered by a fuel control module, and, to receive an ambient source of primary air there-through. The furnace also comprises one or more burner heads connected to a common outlet opening of the burner body to receive a mixture of the fuel and the primary air.

Home appliance with improved burner

A home appliance having an improved burner including an appliance body; at least one burner assembly supported in the appliance body to provide a heat source, the burner assembly including a burner head, an electrode and a venturi tube for mixing gas and air and directing the resultant gas and air mixture to the burner head for ignition by the electrode and flame output through the burner head, the venturi tube being formed from a material subjected to an electrolytic passivation process, preferably an anodizing process.

BURNER AND METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION

A burner having a combustion space and a multiplicity of swirl channels. each having a fuel nozzle for introducing fuel into the respective swirl channel. and The swirl channels extend from an inflow side to an outflow side leading into the fuel space. The swirl channels can each be flowed through by a fuel-air mixture consisting of the fuel and air flowing into the swirl channel. The burner has a centre axis running through the combustion space and the swirl channels, emanating from the outflow side, are helically wound about the centre axis in portions, so that the fuel-air mixture flowing from the inflow side along the flow path to the outflow side flows through the swirl channels in each case is subjected to a swirl and flows into the combustion space in a swirl-subjected manner.
