At least a subset of the hollow struts provides a fluidic connection for cooling fluid from the outlet to a plurality of further downstream discharge ports. Walls of the body surrounding each of the plurality of further downstream discharge ports are physically connected to corresponding jackets of the at least one of the plurality of hollow struts.

A fuel system includes a fuel supply system. A plurality of fuel nozzles are connected in fluid communication with the fuel supply system to supply fuel from a fuel source to be issued for combustion from the fuel nozzles. A cooling system is included, wherein at least one of the fuel nozzles includes a cooling circuit in addition to a fuel circuit for issuing fuel from the fuel supply system for combustion. The cooling circuit includes an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is in fluid communication with the cooling system for circulation of coolant through the cooling circuit and back to the cooling system out the outlet of the cooling circuit for cooling the fuel circuit with the fuel circuit staged off.

A burner includes a main body having an outer surface and at least partially defining an interior. The main body further includes an upstream end axially spaced from a downstream end. The outer surface includes a burner front face at the downstream end of the main body. An annular cooling air plenum is defined in the main body radially inwardly from the outer surface. A cooling air passage extends from the outer surface to the annular cooling air plenum. A plurality of cooling channels is circumferentially spaced apart from one another along the burner front face. Each cooling channel of the plurality of cooling channels extends from a respective inlet in fluid communication with the annular cooling air plenum to a respective outlet.

The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods that are useful for one or more aspects of a power production plant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to combustor apparatuses and methods for a combustor adapted to utilize different fuel mixtures derived from gasification of a solid fuel.
