A vehicle seat feature to provide additional legroom for feet or legs of a rear-facing child in a safety carseat installed in a vehicle seat, by utilizing a bounded cavity or the like in the vehicle seat backrest, which is accessible from the front side of the backrest by feet or legs of a rear-facing child. Such a cavity may in some embodiments be deployable and made available by removing or repositioning a barrier object or the like, which when restored may in effect constitute part of an otherwise normally functional backrest.

A portable support (10) for seating including a body (14) adapted to contain beans (41), the body (14) having a first portion (16) adapted to be carried and a second portion (18) adapted to be moveable relative to the first portion (16) between a folded condition, in which the second portion (18) is stowed adjacent the first portion (16), and a deployed condition in which the second portion (18) extends from the first portion (16), wherein in the deployed condition the beans (41) are moveable between the first portion (16) and the second portion (18) thereby substantially filling second portion (18) to a useable state, the second portion (18) being shaped so as to be able to provide a substantially self supporting backrest (20) extending from the first portion (16) in the usable state. Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved pivot articulation for a kinematic seat. Certain embodiments provide an elastic pivot that is formed as flexion weaves that connect upper and lower portions of a seat back. The flexion weaves may be inner and outer legs that are curved in configuration or that have bent dimensions.

A sliding seat, in particular for gaming stations, includes a seating portion defined by at least one substantially horizontal seating plane supported by a support device on a support base. The support base has a plate that can be joined to the support device and is slidably connectable to a footboard resting upon the floor, the footboard being provided with a guide device cooperating with corresponding a sliding device provided on the plate to allow the plate to slide together with the seating portion. In particular, in the sliding seat, the length of the plate is greater than or equal to half the distance between the surface of the plate and the seating plane.

The apparatus can be reconfigured to optimally position and support the arms and/or chest of the user. A method for using a stool can involve rotating armrests of the apparatus from a stowed position to a deployed position. The armrests can support the user's forearms while supporting the user's chest such that the user can comfortably perform tasks in front of a chest support of the stool.
