Direct Vent Dilution Air Connection System
A blower systems includes a blower housing, a gasket, and a clamp. The blower housing includes a dilution air inlet port having a tubular portion with an end margin having a plurality of flanges separated by slits enabling flexing of the plurality of flanges to resiliently move radially inwardly from an unflexed position. The gasket extends within the end margin of the dilution air inlet port. The air supply system includes an inlet portion, a combustion air portion, and a one-piece fitting having an inlet, dilution air outlet, and a combustion air outlet. The clamp is positioned radially about the plurality of flanges such that it can secure a source of dilution air within the dilution air inlet port.
Smokeless incinerator and system using same
A smokeless incinerator burns unburned gas to inhibit generation of black smoke. The incinerator contains a first combustion chamber with a main combustor having firebrick walls into which waste is thrown and an auxiliary burner for burning the waste. A water cooling jacket is located above the main combustor. A second combustion chamber is located on top of the first combustion chamber and has a re-burning burner for unburned gas. A filter-equipped combustion chamber is aligned with and adjacent the second combustion chamber and has a ceramic filter. A third combustion chamber is aligned with and adjacent to the filter-equipped combustion chamber and has a dust collection cyclone. A fourth combustion chamber is located on top of the third combustion chamber and has a re-burning burner for unburned gas. An exhaust stack is located on top of the fourth combustion chamber and has a forced exhaust.

Draft Inducer Blower
A draft inducer blower assembly includes a blower having a fan, a dilution air intake passage, an exhaust gas intake passage, and a discharge passage. The blower is configured to operatively connect to a heater system in a manner to facilitate flow of combustion air into a combustion chamber and to draw dilution air into the blower and to mix the dilution air with the exhaust gases and to facilitate flow of the mixed air and exhaust gases through the vent. The dilution air intake passage is positionable in at least a low flow configuration and a high flow configuration. The dilution air intake passage is more restrictive of intake of dilution air in the low flow configuration than in the high flow configuration.
Air/gas admittance device for a combustion appliance
An improved air/gas admittance device for a combustion appliance. The improved air/gas admittance device is configured to provide a more uniform gas and/or air flow. This may help reduce noise in pressure and/or flow sensor measurements that are used by a gas valve controller to control the air/fuel ratio to the combustion appliance, which may help improve the efficiency and/or emissions of the combustion appliance.
Flow regulation for a biochar kiln
An example flow regulation system for a biochar kiln includes an air inlet port of the biochar kiln. The example flow regulation system also includes a port cover coupled to the air inlet ports. The example flow regulation system also includes an external flow regulation assembly coupled with the port cover. The example flow regulation system also includes a controller operating the external flow regulation assembly based on monitoring conditions of the biochar kiln to open and close the air inlet port.
COMBUSTION DEVICE
The combustion device includes: a burner; an igniter; a fuel supply unit that supplies fuel to the burner; a blower fan that supplies air for combustion; an exhaust port that discharges combustion exhaust; a device control unit that, before ignition of fuel supplied to the burner by operation of the igniter, performs air purge of the burner at a predetermined air blowing amount by driving the blower fan; and a setting means that is set when a check valve for preventing back flow of exhaust is connected to the exhaust port. When the setting means is set to indicate that the check valve is connected, the device control unit controls the operation of the blower fan so that slow-start air purge is performed in which the time interval from the start of air purge until the predetermined air blowing amount is reached becomes longer, than in the case in which no such check valve is connected.
FURNACE INDUCER CHOKE AND A GAS FURNACE EMPLOYING THE SAME
A furnace inducer choke and a gas furnace employing the furnace inducer choke. In one embodiment, the furnace inducer choke includes: (1) a choke body configured to engage a furnace inducer blower, the choke body having an opening extending entirely therethrough to limit an amount of combustion air entering a furnace that the furnace inducer blower is attached, and (2) a tab protruding from the choke body a distance sufficient to identify the opening when the choke body and furnace inducer blower are installed in the furnace.
Exhaust system for a biochar kiln
An example exhaust system for a biochar kiln includes a chimney of the biochar kiln. The example exhaust system for a biochar kiln also includes a first forced air inlet on the chimney to draw smoke through the chimney during a preheating stage to prime the chimney. The example exhaust system for a biochar kiln also includes a second forced air inlet operatively coupled with the chimney. The second forced air inlet activated to increase airflow when air naturally occurring in a smoke stream in the chimney is insufficient, the second forced air inlet deactivated when there is sufficient air.
Fuel-fired appliance with exhaust dilution
A fuel-fired heating appliance comprises a fuel source, an air source, a chamber in which fuel and air mix, a burner downstream from the mixing chamber, an igniter proximate the burner, a heat exchanger, a blower and a flue pipe. An ambient air inlet may be defined by at least one of the outlet end of the blower and the flue pipe extending between the interior of the flue pipe and an area ambient to the flue pipe. A flow rate of combustion gas may be controlled to a level below a steady-state flow rate during appliance warm-up.
