COMBUSTOR, GAS TURBINE PROVIDED WITH SAME, AND METHOD OF REPAIRING COMBUSTOR
A combustor is provided with a combustion liner (12) in which a combustion gas flows through the inner peripheral side and a plurality of through-holes (14) are formed, and a sound attenuator (20) having a space-forming member (21) configured to form a space (S) connected to the plurality of through-holes (14) at the outer peripheral side of the combustion liner (12). The space-forming member has a main body having an opening configured to bring an outside and the space in communication with each other, and a lid joined to an outer surface of the main body via a welded portion and configured to protrude outward and close the opening.
COMBUSTOR APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATING COMBUSTOR APPARATUS
A gas turbine engine includes combustion apparatus defining a volume, a compressor, a cooling air supply feed from the compressor, and a Helmholtz resonator. The Helmholtz resonator has a neck and a chamber having an attenuation volume and which is in fluid communication with the attenuation volume, the cooling air supply feed is connected to the Helmholtz resonator and includes a valve arrangement. In a first engine operating condition, the valve arrangement is closed and the Helmholtz resonator attenuates acoustic frequencies in a first range and, in a second engine operating condition, the valve arrangement is open whereby cooling air purges the attenuation volume and the Helmholtz resonator attenuates acoustic frequencies in a second range.
A method of repairing a combustor involves executing: an opening step of opening a portion of the space-forming member (21) in contact with the outside and bringing the outside and the space (S) in communication with each other; a cylinder repair step of repairing the combustion liner (12); a foreign substance removal step of removing foreign substances in the space (S) from the opening (23) opened in the opening step to the outside, after the cylinder repair step; and a closing step of closing the opening (23) using a lid (24), after the foreign substance removal step.
Burner arrangement with resonator
A burner arrangement having a combustion chamber, a multiplicity of mixing ducts discharging into the combustion chamber, in which ducts combustion air and fuel introduced during proper operation are mixed, and at least one resonator which has a defined resonator volume and resonator openings. The mixing ducts have mixing tubes which extend axially through an annular space defined between a tubular outer wall, a tubular inner wall arranged with the radial separation from the outer wall, an annular end plate arranged upstream and an annular end plate arranged downstream, wherein the end plates are provided with through openings which receive and/or prolong the mixing tubes. The resonator openings of the at least one resonator are designed as air ducts that extend through the downstream end plate, and the resonator volume of the at least one resonator is formed by at least one part of the annular space.
Combustion dynamics mitigation system
A combustion liner assembly includes a combustion liner having an upstream end portion and a downstream end portion and a resonator disposed proximate to the upstream end portion of the combustion liner. The resonator includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced inlet apertures disposed along a radially outer surface of the resonator, an air chamber defined within the resonator and a plurality of outlet apertures disposed along a radially inner surface of the resonator. The plurality of inlet apertures provide for fluid flow into the air chamber and the plurality of outlet apertures provide for fluid flow out of the air chamber and into a radial flow passage defined within the combustor.
Simultaneous broadband damping at multiple locations in a combustion chamber
The damper arrangement includes a plurality of interconnected volumes and a plurality of necks for connecting the damper to a combustion chamber at a plurality of contact points. The plurality of necks are connected to the plurality of volumes.
Compensation assembly for a damper of a gas turbine
The present invention relates to dampers for gas turbines and, for example, to a compensation assembly for a damper of a gas turbine for reducing the pulsations occurring in the combustion chamber. The damper can include a resonator cavity with a neck tube in flow communication with the interior of the combustion chamber, wherein the compensation assembly includes a spherical joint associated to the neck tube and configured to allow relative rotation between the combustion chamber and the resonator cavity, and having a bulb portion disposed around the neck tube and a spherical socket configured to internally host the bulb portion, wherein the spherical socket can have a top collar portion and a bottom collar portion connected to each other.
Burner with baffle
In a burner in which fuel and gaseous oxidant are fed into the burner and combusted to produce a flame that extends out of an end of the burner, the noise produced by the burner is lessened by incorporating into the burner a baffle composed of a metal plate having a certain distribution of holes through the plate and a layer of metal filaments, and optionally a second metal plate.
Thermo-acoustic damper in a combustor liner
A hollow plank of a combustor liner defining a combustion chamber including an inner wall having a plurality of inner openings and one or more inner holes, an outer wall having one or more outer openings and a plurality of outer holes, a plurality of lateral walls coupled to the inner wall and the outer wall to define a cavity, and a partition wall connected to the plurality of lateral walls and dividing the cavity into a first sub-cavity and a second sub-cavity. The one or more outer openings communicate with the first sub-cavity and communicate through a plurality of tubes with the second sub-cavity. The plurality of inner openings communicate with the second sub-cavity and communicate with the first sub-cavity through one or more bypass tubes. The first sub-cavity or the second sub-cavity, or both, are frequency tuned to reduce combustion dynamic frequencies.
