Method for controlling coal supply quantity during transient load-varying process considering exergy storage correction of boiler system of coal-fired unit
A method for controlling a coal supply quantity during a transient load-varying process considering exergy storage correction of a boiler system of a coal-fired unit is provided. Temperatures and pressures of working fluid and metal heating surface of the boiler system of the coal-fired unit are measured and recorded in real-time, and converted into the exergy storage amount at different operating load points. During the transient operation process, the real-time exergy storage amount of the boiler system is compared with the exergy storage amount at the corresponding steady-state load point, and the real-time exergy storage variation is obtained; thereafter, the feed-forward control signal of coal supply quantity input is superposed to the existing coal supply quantity command of the boiler system, and the coal supply quantity signal of the boiler system based on the exergy storage correction is finally generated.

Configurable control selectors
A system for an appliance having a plurality of burners operated by a plurality of gas valves includes a plurality of selector buttons to assign a single control selector to a specified burner and a plurality of dedicated off buttons, assigned to the burners.
SINGLE INLET OXYGEN BURNER FOR METAL MAKING
The present disclosure describes a metal making burner in fluid communication with a gas inlet and comprising an oxygen inlet valve that provides control of oxygen flow to two different discharge lines, such as a main line and a shroud line. This allows distinct “modes” of operation, utilizing only the flow from the single oxygen supply as the control method. The apparatus includes a moving piston with ports therein that meter flow to both discharge lines when the ports line up with a separate set of ports in a cylinder that receives the piston. At low or no pressure from the gas inlet, flow rates follow one ratio of flows between the discharge lines. As pressure from a gas inlet changes in the burner, the piston moves and realigns the ports (opening or closing some of the ports), which results in a different ratio of flows between the discharge lines.
Automated tuning of multiple fuel gas turbine combustion systems
Provided herein is a method for automated control of the gas turbine fuel composition through automated modification of the ratio of fuel gas from multiple sources. The method includes providing first and second fuel sources. The method further includes sensing the operational parameters of a turbine and determining whether the operational parameters are within preset operational limits. The method also adjusting the ration of the first fuel source to the second fuel source, based on whether the operational parameters are within the preset operational limits.
Systems and methods for operation of a flexible fuel combustor
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that are useful for controlling one or more aspects of a power production plant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to power production plants and methods of carrying out a power production method utilizing different fuel chemistries. Combustion of the different fuel mixtures can be controlled so that a defined set of combustion characteristics remains substantially constant across a range of different fuel chemistries.

Method for reducing fuel nozzle coking in a gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine includes a compressor section, a combustor fluidly connected to the compressor section via a primary flowpath, a turbine section fluidly connected to the combustor via the primary flowpath, and a plurality of fuel injectors disposed within the combustor. The plurality of fuel injectors including at least one start fuel injector. Also included is a controller having a memory and processor. The memory stores instructions configured to cause the at least one start fuel injector to pulse fuel through the start injector nozzle, thereby preventing stagnant fuel in the start injector nozzle from exceed a coking temperature threshold.
A MODULE FOR MEASURING THE FLOW RATE OF FUEL AND A BURNER COMPRISING SUCH MODULE
A module which measures the flow rate of fuel, having an inlet portion, an outlet portion and a primary conduit for transporting the fuel extending between said inlet and outlet portions for transporting a first flow of fuel; the module further has a secondary conduit for transporting fuel, adjacent to the primary conduit and extending between a first section and a second section of the primary conduit for transporting a second flow of fuel between the first and the second section; the module additionally has a measurement sensor of the flow rate of fuel introduced into the secondary conduit and a Venturi constriction device arranged in the primary conduit in proximity to or at the second section. Other aspects are described and claimed.
LOW EMISSION DIRECT FIRED PROCESS AIR HEATING
A system and method for heating process air is disclosed. Low NOx burners are provided with low temperature combustion air, e.g., less than about 0° C., and fuel at varying amounts to maintain a desired balance between low NO.sub.2 and low CO emissions. The amount of combustion air and the amount of fuel may be adjusted to achieve desired low NO.sub.2 and low CO via a feedback control system.
