Grill with battery power system and measurement
A portable grill with a battery power system includes a primary direct-current power source and a secondary direct-current power source. The primary power source can connect onto the outside of the grill via a clip. The secondary power source, which can be disposed within the grill so as not to be exposed to outside elements, can continue to power the grill when the user removes and/or replaces the primary power source during the operation of the grill. A user feedback system can remotely alert the user with information regarding the time or power remaining in the primary power source.
System and method for providing combustion in a boiler
A combustion system with a combustion area in a boiler including a fuel pipe for delivering fuel is disclosed. A duct having a bend extended there through is in fluid communication with the fuel pipe and the combustion area of the boiler. The duct has an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter. The duct includes a first partition plate to form a first parallel flow of the fuel between the outer perimeter and the first partition plate, upstream of the bend.

CANDLE SUPPORT AND LIGHTING SYSTEM
An assembly for use with a cake is provided. The assembly includes a plurality of candles and a plurality of candle holders. Each individually sized candle holder is configured for receiving one candle of the plurality of candles. A plurality of links are part of the assembly, and a link connects adjacent candle holders. The link is flexible to allow selective placement of each of the candle holders. A wick connector extends between wicks of adjacent candles. Lighting of the wick connector allows for the lit wick connector to extend to all of the plurality of candles to light the candles.

Plasma pilot
A combustion system includes a perforated flame holder, a fuel nozzle configured to output fuel toward the perforated flame holder, and a plasma ignition device configured to output a plasma during a preheating state of the combustion system and to cease outputting the plasma to transition from the preheating state to the standard operating state. In the preheating state the plasma ignition device causes a preheating flame of the fuel stream at a position between the fuel nozzle and the perforated flame holder. In the standard operating condition, the plasma is not present and the fuel stream impinges on the perforated flame holder. The perforated flame holder supports a combustion reaction of the fuel stream within the perforated flame holder when in the standard operating state.

System and method for laser ignition of fuel in a coal-fired burner
A system and method of igniting a coal air-fuel mixture, including a burner having a burner tube operable to carry a flowing mixture of fuel and air to a furnace for combustion therein and a first flow directing device disposed within the tube, operable to direct a first portion of the flowing fuel and air mixture to a location in the burner tube. The system also includes a laser igniter within the burner tube, the laser igniter including a laser tube having a first end with a laser light input and a second end with a light output, and a laser light source operably coupled to the laser light input. The laser light source, including a laser. The laser ignitor directing photons from the light output at the location in the burner tube to ignite at least a part of the first portion of the fuel.
Smoking article and method
A meat smoker/cooker device is provided and includes a fuel chamber having a fuel chamber structure which includes a fuel chamber sidewall that defines a fuel chamber cavity, wherein the fuel chamber sidewall includes a first mounting hole, a second mounting hole and a sidewall slot communicated with the chamber cavity. Additionally, the meat smoker device also includes a fuel container having a container rim and being located within the chamber cavity proximate the slot bottom and an ignition article having an ignition article handle, an ignition article mounting structure and a heating element, wherein the ignition article handle includes a handle portion movably located within the sidewall slot and wherein the ignition article mounting structure is configured to mountingly engage with the first and second mounting hole, such that the ignition article is configurable between a first and second configuration.
