Various embodiments include a heat transfer device, a turbomachine casing and a related storage medium. In some cases, the device includes: a body having an outer surface and an inner cavity within the outer surface; at least one aperture extending through the body, the at least one aperture positioned to direct fluid from the inner cavity through the body to the outer surface; a first lip proximate a first end of the body, and a second lip proximate a second end of the body, the first lip and the second lip each extending radially outward from the outer surface relative to a direction of flow of the fluid through the inner cavity; and a plug coupled with the body, the plug for obstructing an end of the inner cavity, the plug positioned to redirect flow of the fluid from a first direction to a second, distinct direction.

System and method for a fuel nozzle

A system includes an oxidant compressor and a gas turbine engine turbine, which includes a turbine combustor, a turbine, and an exhaust gas compressor. The turbine combustor includes a plurality of diffusion fuel nozzles, each including a first oxidant conduit configured to inject a first oxidant through a plurality of first oxidant openings configured to impart swirling motion to the first oxidant in a first rotational direction, a first fuel conduit configured to inject a first fuel through a plurality of first fuel openings configured to impart swirling motion to the first fuel in a second rotational direction, and a second oxidant conduit configured to inject a second oxidant through a plurality of second oxidant openings configured to impart swirling motion to the second oxidant in a third rotational direction. The first fuel conduit surrounds the first oxidant conduit and the second oxidant conduit surrounds the first fuel conduit.

A gas turbine engine has: a casing; a combustor liner delimiting a combustion chamber; a fuel nozzle in fluid communication with the combustion chamber; and an igniter having a base, a glow plug heater rod extending from the base along an axis and terminating in a rod end, and a sleeve extending around the glow plug heater rod, the sleeve radially spaced apart from the glow plug heater rod by an annular gap, the sleeve defines fins circumferentially distributed around the axis, each two circumferentially adjacent fins of the fins spaced apart from one another by a spacing communicating with the annular gap, the fins extending in a direction having an axial component from roots to tips, the roots axially closer to the base than the tips, the rod end extending axially beyond the tips of the fins such that the rod end is located outside the annular gap.

System and method for high efficiency power generation using a carbon dioxide circulating working fluid

The present invention provides methods and system for power generation using a high efficiency combustor in combination with a CO.sub.2 circulating fluid. The methods and systems advantageously can make use of a low pressure ratio power turbine and an economizer heat exchanger in specific embodiments. Additional low grade heat from an external source can be used to provide part of an amount of heat needed for heating the recycle CO.sub.2 circulating fluid. Fuel derived CO.sub.2 can be captured and delivered at pipeline pressure. Other impurities can be captured.

Fuel manifolds

A fuel injection system includes an outer support defining a fuel manifold and an inner support, with a feed arm extending radially between the inner support and the outer support. A plurality of outlet openings extending in an axial direction from the feed arm for feeding respective injection nozzles. The feed arm defines a plurality of fuel passages therethrough in fluid communication with the fuel manifold and outlet openings to supply fuel from the fuel manifold to the outlet openings. A heat shield extends from the outer support to the inner support and extends about the outer support and the feed arm to provide heat shielding to the fuel manifold and the fuel passages.

A coating occlusion resistant effusion cooling hole to form a film of a cooling fluid on a surface of a wall. The cooling hole extends along a longitudinal axis. The cooling hole includes an inlet section defined so as to be spaced apart from the surface. The inlet section is to receive the cooling fluid. The cooling hole includes a metering section fluidly coupled downstream of the inlet section. The cooling hole includes an outlet section fluidly coupled downstream of the metering section. The outlet section includes an overhang portion, a recessed portion, a first sidewall and a second sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall interconnect the overhang portion with the recessed portion along a portion of the outlet section, and the first sidewall and the second sidewall converge and diverge in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis.

Combustor floating collar assembly

A gas turbine combustor floating collar for mounting an igniter or fuel nozzle to a combustor is provided with an outer periphery in a non-circular shape, for example having at least one section thereof formed with a flat surface, such as a square or triangular shape. The outer periphery of the floating collar is complementary to and completely surrounded by an inner periphery surface of a recess of a boss affixed on the combustor, thereby preventing substantial rotation of the floating collar with respect to the boss.
